For Now, but for how long ?
Kind of like what Mahindra did, when they bought that chinese factory 3 years ago, and now is going to test market a low cost 25 hp model this year. It will happen , just a matter of how soon

P.S. 100% - 95% = 5% ,where is the other 5% going ?

Buck,
The test marketing has already been done in a few areas of the country. I have one being delivered for stock in March, and I could have gotten it in January but I refuse to keep these tractors on the lot for NYS to throw salt all over them. I think I will be able to move a few of these tractors.

We'll soon find out about the 2525. I took the afternoon off yesterday to test drive new tractors. Drove the 2415 (Way too small-strikes me as a scut-I feel like Shaquille O'Neal riding a shetland pony), the 2615 (liked it), New Holland TC30 (Awkward layout, the JD 2305(?) (eh). Was about to buy the 2615, when I saw the brochure for the 2525 sitting on the salesman's desk. We looked at it, compared the specs to the 2615, and he called his GM to get pricing. (This dealership doesn't even have them in stock yet-8 coming by the end of the month).

They are offering a package deal-2525, FEL, 4wd/, 8 fwd/reverse synchroshuttle, 5ft cutter, and 5 foot box blade for just under $14,000. That's more than $2,000 under the 2615 package, and includes the box blade, which the 2615 package did not. The 2615 package was for gear drive. The 2525 has a greater FEL lift capacity, and is 1000lbs heavier (+/-) Seemed like a no brainer to me, so I have reserved the first 2525 out of dealer's initial shipment. They are not sure of the arrival date, but have promised delivery by the end of the month (Mahindra promised they would receive their first allotment "in February") Of course, if I don't like it, I can still get the 2615, so it's all good. Either way, I'll have a new Mahindra in the shed very soon.

Just too soon to tell about them at this point, but for the $2000 I would have gone with the tried and true Mitsubishi! $2000 is not a lot to know you have a super tough quality built tractor versus the unknown. Do yourself a favor and look at the 2 tractors side by side. Compare the workmanship first hand before you decide for certain.

Thanks-I intend to do just that-compare side by side. If the 2525 is as nice as the 2615, I'll buy it. If I have any reservations, I'll go 2615

Sage advice.

I have had the opportunity to do this. That's why I'm saying it. Keep in mind that the 2525 may be much better at this point than when it was badged the ES25, but the workmanship was much better on the 15 series when I looked them over.

i'd have to agree with jwcinpk's advice. compare and get some "hands on" time with both machines before making a final decision.

I got a chance to look over a new 2525 (uuugh... I cringe when I see that they made it a "25" series) and from a distance, it looks like a nice tractor. As I got closer, you can tell even before you see the huge "MADE IN CHINA" sticker under the dashboard that it's chinese. (Mahindra, WHY do you put that huge sticker on there in such a prominent place... There's no way it's going to help sales of this unit!) But, it's not as crude as I had imagined it would be. The gearshift coming out of the side of the dash under the instrument panel is a little odd... but for the most part it looks like a fairly nice, useable tractor.

Hopefully it will disprove that stigma sticker under the steering wheel...:(
