I had my rear tires filled on my tc45d and it felt like I was riding on bent rims going down the road to buy fuel. I'm not familiar with rim guard. Is it better than calcium?

it is beat juice, and yes, it is better because it doesn't rust anything out.

Not likely to be any different ride-wise. Ballast is ballast. I've been running several 1/4mi+ trips on the road with my NX (only rears ballasted) and I don't seem to notice any discomfort. I'm dragging a trailer behind, though, which could settle the ride a bit: 3k lbs empty and close to 12k lbs with full load.

Rim Guard is also touted as being "non-toxic." (anything in sufficient enough quantities can be toxic, but pretty much not going to cull wildlife with a spill of Rim Guard).
