I am confused on your statement that LS only has "simple" remotes. I am currently shopping for a tractor and am curious what differentiates simple from great remotes. I am not a hydraulics expert so any education is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
Dave, I believe but very well might be wrong that the LS rear remote control valves are a simple 3 position return to center valve. What that means is that you push or pull the valve lever to get the reaction that you are looking for, let go of the lever and it returns to the closed (center) position. As in retracting or extending the hydraulic.
A more sophisticated control valve will have a float position such as what most loader valves have. That is considered a 4 position valve.
Then there are either of those same valves with detents, the detent keeps the control lever in the position that you put it in and has to be manually returned to center (the closed position).
Then to go a step further you can get those same valves with detent auto kick out function. That is you put the valve in the detent position, say for retracting the cylinder. With a std detent the rod retracts and then the motor has a load put on it and the fluid goes to bypass until you take the lever out of the detent position. If you have the auto kick out function the lever will automatically kick out of the detent position and return to the closed (center) position when the hydraulic has reached the end of it's stroke.
There are these types of valves on different makes and models and sometimes the manufacturer will give you a choice of the type of control valve that you would like to have and other times certain models come with a specific type and you have no choice.
Nothing wrong with any of the types of controls, just that some have a few more options than others. I hope that this helps some.
