I own an 05' Mahindra 2615HST 4X4. Before I continue I want to say I have absolutely no loyalty to any brand name or color. This was my first tractor and I started from ground zero and for (6) months I reseached/tested just about every compact/sub compact tractor on the market. I dare to say that 90% of tractor owners are loyal to a brand or color.
After (6) months I found the 2015HST was the best value for my money. But just before writing the check I asked my dealer to be honest with me and tell me the biggest regret he has heard from his customers after the purchase? Without hesitation he said, "Customers wish they went to the next size larger tractor" .
After almost a year I still thank him for that advise. You'll be happy with the 2015 but you'll love the 2615! Weight is everything at 2500lbs this is one of the heaviest on the market. At 15" wide the R4, (no extra charge) are among the widest. I can roll accross turf with absolutely no damage. I don't recommend this, but I don't need counter weights. The tractor is just that heavy! Which enables me to work in tight areas without something hanging off the rear. It is so powerful that I easily run a 5' brush hog through 5' brush at 1800-2000 rpm instead of 2600. I mow on moderate slopes from time to time and the 2015 would limit that. Access to the engine is great! Remember this......It doesn't matter how much horse power if your wheels are spinning. I have only one complaint the muffler points to the front of the machine and at times blows back in your face.
I'm about to sell my 2615 and get a toolcat, but only because the south texas 100-105 degree heat is killing me. I would buy the same tractor in a heart beat with a cab and AC but I understand there are no plans in the works. Oh, and the full 3yr warr far surpasses most other makers. Also, the 2615 has three ranges, I use them all. And I'm so glad I spent $1,000 more for the HST Trans.! I didn't think I really needed it, but it make desending a steep hill a snap! If you have any other questions just send me a personal message, I think I've gone a bit long for this forum. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
