Mahindra 2015 won't start

My 2015 Mahindra tractor won't start. It has a new battery which allowed it to start 4 or 5 times before it died again. I have cleaned the battery terminals including the ground terminal where it connects to the body of the tractor. What should I try next?

Is the battery still charged? Or is the new battery dying?

Could the altinater be malfunctioning?

If you have the headlights on when you try the starter, do they dim considerably? If so, either battery is bad or cable connections still not tight. Keep trying.

New battery is 12.5 but started at 14.5

No headlights at all no lights at the instrument panel no click nothing.

Might be worth a battery test at the parts store. But how many hours and years old is this machine? Seems like a charging problem if you replaced the battery, then the new one only lasted a few starts. Any accessories normally on that use a lot of juice?
12.5 is not good but should run lights, etc. New batt might be bad, or re-check all connections. Maybe you have a cable with an internal open? Just fishing here...

Thanks to all who responded. It was indeed the cable and after much more tightening than I thought would be necessary the tractor is running like a charm.
