Mahindra 2545 on sand

That looks really interesting. I didn't realize this was even an option for the stock bucket. I'd say that 90% of the times I felt like the 1526 was inadequate I was trying to scoop something but didn't have enough pushing force to penetrate with the bottom lip of the bucket.

Seems like in the end the toothbar would need to be welded in place, I can't imagine it staying tight on the loader and not shifting around after being loaded a couple hundred times. I'd have to change the way I am currently spreading dirt, though - I have been dropping the bucket into float and reversing while it is pointed down at around 35 degrees or so.

BXpanded Piranha Toothbar get something on the bucket edge before you muck it up.

Mine is bolt one, one big 'ol bolt into each side of the loader bucket. It has been tight for 5 years now. Even after coming on and off several times (easily done in 5 mins with a wrench).

The limited area of the leading teeth edges (as compared to the entire width of the bucket) concentrates the pushing force dramatically. Yes you'll have to adapt to using it. back-dragging becomes a bit trickier to get a nice smooth surface - but if you have a rear blade or rear box blade, it can go just as fast to dump quicker and then smooth out after. I think you'll be blown away with the increase in digging power though, highly recommend.

That looks awesome. Interestingly the bucket on the 1526 I've been using is bent from a combination of me any my dad trying to pull things up with the FEL lip that were clearly too heavy. I believe some type of loader bar will be my first purchase. I hadn't really thought about it or known that this was a thing until the last two posts. So far I'm leaning towards the piranha bar since it would work better when spreading. When I go to sign the paperwork for the tractor I'll carry a tape measure and get a measurement of the bucket for ordering.

Haven't heard from the dealership today. Last I heard they were still looking and would order a new 2545 if they were unable to come up with one locally. Good thing is they will sell whichever unit they find for the listed promotional price of 22,800. Any thoughts on this price?

Only measure the bucket coming to your house, they are not always the EXACT same. Use the measuring instructions on their website.

I used mine to clear thick head high briers and 1 to 2-1/2" trees like magic. Keep it just off the ground and parallel.

I'm going to be sick when/if I get my tractor at the end of next week and am not able to get a toothbar to protect my bucket before spreading a couple truckloads of gravel over the weekend.

Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of threads about it but you guys have been super helpful thus far and I'm enjoying the thread moving along. I want to gift my dad a toolbox for his 1526. Preferably no welding required. I will also be adding something to the 2545 if/when I get it. It is incredibly annoying not having anywhere to put anything on my dad's 1526 - I always end up with loose items in the floorboard or jangling behind the seat.

Alot of folks have toolboxes behind seat. Other have used 50 cal ammo cans and smaller. I have an ammo can so my vision isnt totally blocked to the 3pt from inside my cab.

No rush, and don't worry.... you wont hurt your bucket or cutting edge at all. A toothbar is not really for "protection", it just makes it more effective at digging.

Correct, for sand rock and pea gravel I don't use anything when spreading.

What he said.

I've spread literally 100's of yards of sand, gravel, dirt with no toothbar. Bucket looks as good as new, minus a little paint.
