Hi,

I'm considering buying a 3016 that is slightly used (80 hrs).
It comes with a 72" MMM and FEL with quick detach 72" bucket.

Does anyone know if the MMM is a drive over deck for install/removal? I'm new to anything beyond a lawn tractor. Any advice on servicing the blades, ie what's the easiest way to lift the deck to remove the blades?

My lawn is a bit bumpy but I tend to cut it at about 3". Is there going to be a huge difference between a 60 and 72" MMM regarding scalping, etc? I do like that it extends out past the tires for trimming around things.

It has the aux hydraulics set up to run a FEL already but no FEL. Would I be best to buy a Mahindra brand FEL or an aftermarket unit. Kind of bummed the Mahindra doesn't offer a power thumb. Not sure I need it but the option would be nice.

I'm also looking at the max 26 XL new, Kubota B2650 vs 3350 w/cab (slightly used) vs JD 2025 vs 2032. Have tons of other questions but I'll start with the above. A JD 2320 with MMM and FEL also recently showed up on CL for a decent price. Currently have 10 acres, 3-4 are grass, the rest woods. a fair amt of slopes, one hill. I had concerns about the 3016 for lawn mowing duties but I test drove it this weekend on some fairly soggy ground and it probably left less marks than my lawn tractor would have (3016 has turf tires) so I'm a little less worried now.

Thanks,

Tom

Are the loader brackets on it also? the loaders would be best to get from Mahindra but even so your putting around 5k of new loader onto a used tractor... Id go with the 26XL and the 60inch mid

All Mahindra MM are drive over decks

Thanks for the info.
Still considering the Mahindra but have discovered the Kabota B3200's look to be very good deals. A 32 hp tractor with the same footprint as the b2650 for nearly the same price (sometimes better). I just missed a 3200 with FEL, MMM and BH for 23K, under 100 hrs on it. They can be found without BH for 16K fairly commonly. Only drawback is I was quoted 7800 to install a BH77 on one. Ouch. Quote was about 1K less for the Mahindra. I'll dig around and see what I can find on installation. Fairly good chance I could do the install myself and cut that down some but not sure it 's worth it.

Be careful with a 72" bucket on the loader. The standard bucket is 60" and that 72" will void the tractor warranty with Mahindra.

Yeah, the 72 in mower and bucket could be nice but they both worry me a bit. Went to see a B3200, nice machine, just need to see if we can come to a price that makes sense for me to still be able to buy the backhoe. Reeltime, I agree, the Mahindra is a lot of tractor. If it had the smaller deck, I may have picked it up. I think I'll be happy with either though. I certainly appreciate any feedback

OK... I am confused I guess... in the beginning of the post it talks about the 72" MMM and loader with 72" bucket... buy later you say there is no loader?

You would love the 72" deck, and certainly get the Mahindra loader. It would be VERY difficult to get an aftermarket loader, plus, they still have loaders on hands since the model was discontinued. If the price is right, that tractor would be great!

Sorry for any confusion. It has a FEL with 72" bucket.
I don't think my yard is smooth enough for a 72" mower.
In any case, I just got an email and it looks like I'll soon be the proud owner of the Kubota instead. I can get the b3200 for 3500 less than the 3016. It's a few years older but the lower price should allow me to put a backhoe on it.
