You are really comparing a Tong Yang Moolsan 4110 to a Kubota 4400. In fact, there is nothing "Mahindra" about the 10 series or 15 series for that matter other than the sticker. I guess the same can be said for the majority though. From a personal standpoint, I'm leery of contract tractors and the support they will get down the road. That is not to say they are not great machines. Just a personal opinion and something that weighed in my decision. Drive them and get the one you like best. You will know which one is for you when you drive them. Both should last you quite a while.

Ok. Point well taken. What about the Mahindra 4530? That looks pretty comparable to the 4110. At this rate I am going to give up and go find an old Ford 8N!

First step - try (or at least look at and sit in) everything that meets your "wants" or "needs" lists on paper. Some you'll like, others you won't.

So, you're list just got smaller.

Of that list, figure out which dealers you had the best talks with, and ask around about all of them. I have my preference for tractor, but I will be purchasing my second from the dealer I like the best - the service availability (and how a dealer treats you) is worth putting up with whatever color is on the hood, and even paying a bit more up front (within reason).

There are some GREAT dealers out there, with long term reputations.

There are also a lot of so-so, and not so great dealers out there that you should avoid, regardless of the brand they sell. When you need service, you need service...be it for a part, trouble-shooting via phone, or just basic scheduled service items.

Best of luck on your search!

The L4400 was identical in price to the 4110.
My own preference for lime green notwithstanding, if both of these tractors meet all of your needs and the price is exactly the same, i say go with the Kubota. highly reliable and great resale value.

I have an 07 L4400 and love it, that being said it is on the light side, using a scraper and cutting into a bank will throw you around a little, but the power it has makes up for that tad bit of lightness, make sure your tires are filled or get wheel weights.
I was raised on Ford 8n's, they didn't have alot of power but I don't remember that light feeling in them, they did everything we every asked of them and probably a little more.
I have no problem recomending the L4400, mine is the gear model and I bought it because it was very basic, easy to get parts, a very good dealer and it felt like I was in a high 8n, you can't go wrong with a Kubota but you should try them all and get what feels good to you.

I was comparing just like you a few monthes ago, just on smaller sized tractors, I ended up with a Kioti after driving a few others and comparing standard equipment and spec.

There is a great dealer on Rt.201 in Skowhegan if that's close to you, and you can try out the other colors just down the road in Fairfield to compare.

Both Hammond's and Whitemore's are close by to me. The Kioti surely has more standard equipment. I like the idea of being able to creep along. There is no comparison in ground speed in 1st gear between Kubota (1.2 mph) and Kioti (0.24). I just need to go sit and try. Thanks for the input.

I think I'd look at the Kioti or even the Montana tractors. They both seem to be making quality machines.
