Mahindra 4110 PTO wont work

   / Mahindra 4110 PTO wont work #21
I sent him an email with parts breakdown pictures and pointed out the unit that regulates the pressure to the PTO clutch. Trash in the pressure regulator could be his problem.

Thanks, Galen. We need to support this guy.

BTW, I was thinking about this problem- are you sure the mechanic didn't say 1500psi and "4 to 5 gpm" (sounds like 45)?

That would be consistent to what we are all saying about restricted flow...

There is a very small reset button on the back of the solenoid and they sometimes stick and can be loosened by tapping on them. Make sure the wires are connected good.

I would like to know if this problem was ever fixed as I am looking at a 4110 to buy.

worked on the PTO today. The solinoid was replaces with a new one by a so called mahindra repair shop.(old solinoid was good) This guy said he replace the complete pto valve system but today I found out it was never changed. it looks to me like the loader and 3 point hitch and PTO all run off this valve. I took the whole valve system apart as suggested. reinstalled it. still the pto will not work unless the loader is raised and dropped and suddenly stopped. Then the pto will turn. Then in a few minutes it will stop on its own while it is still turned on. Since there have been 4 people work on this I think is the next step is to find a parts brake down of this solinoid vave system to check to see if all the internals on the pto valve system are installed properly. I suspect that there may be parts improperly installed by someone before me. even though I put things back where they came from is no guarantee they were correctly installed. If anyone has a parts brake down skematic of the solinoid valve that controles the pto. i need a complete brake down of the whole unit that bolts to the side of the transmission case. including the two releif valve that are on the PTO valve unit that protrude into the transmission.one is long and the other is short. Charlie would like to find a parts book and a service manuel on the tractor also. Thanks

Well Charlie bought the service manual and parts book which turned out to be useless. :confused2: Im glad I never owned a forin tractor. The books didnt brake down the hydraulic diverter valve. So I had to figure it out by mounting it back on the tractor then when things didnt work i would switch spool valves till things worked. But the PTO still wont work. The squawking in the system is still there. But I have determined that is doesnt originate in the hydraulics as previous thought. I beleive the problem is internal. When the clutch peddle is pushed the noise stops. Ingage the main clutch then the noise comes back. By the little pictures in the parts book that shows the PTO parts I beleive that the gear that drives the PTO clutch pack is broken or the splines are stripped. Or possibly the clutch pack has broken.. To get to the internals the tractor has to be split. Charlie doesnt know if he wants to part the tractor out or fix it.

My 3510 PTO won't come on after it has been off for a while, so I give the solenoid a light tap (per dealer instructions) and she fires right up every time. been doing it ever since it was new in 2004. The solenoid sticks and is very easy to get going again.

I believe my pressure relief valve at the solenoid is stuck because it keeps blowing components in the system. I can't locate the small reset button. I know what a solenoid is but can't find it. Back at the PTO, right? Can you give me a simple diagram to find it? Thanks, Joe

It is located below your right foot as you sit on the tractor. There is not reset button, but tapping the housing with a hammer may free it up. Remove the upper hex plug on the front of the solonoid housing push the solonoid back with a screw driver, spray some penetrant in there and put it back together.
