I'll try to get some pics the next day or two. Basically I took the existing pan and where the ears on each side go over the top of the frame members and bolt to those members and re-bent the pan narrower so it would slip down inbetween the frame members instead. I did all of this in my heavy 6" vise with a drilling hammer. I dropped the pan down to where it basically sits on top of the front axle crossmember and drilled new holes in the frame members to bolt the pan in with 5/16" bolts & nuts, I didn't tap like the originals were, just drilling holes there was enough work for me. I had to re-drill the two holes for the hold-down rods in the pan too, simple enough. The pan had an angled edge to it and I faced this forward so it pretty much covered the gap in front so a stick or something wouldn't poke up into the battery. The only materials used were the 4 bolts, washers and nuts and a little primer & paint.

Thanks - never thought of the furnace filter before, great idea! While not limited to Mahindra I sure wish these folk would design things better - why they dont have better screens, better fan flow, whatever to cope with the chaff is beyond me. Appreciate all who have taken time to post, ...Regards.
