I have a Mahindra 7010 and I need to pull the injection pump off to have it rebuilt. Does anyone know were the timing hole/pin/bolt (to make sure it's at TDC) is located on this model?

I’m not familiar with that mdl.. but.. most of them are directly underneath the inj pump itself..

I found it. TDC hole is located behind the starter.

Hello hamiltonchuck. I too need to pull the pump off my mahindra 7010 as it has a leak on the inside next to the engine. I have never done anything with timing before. I don't know how to get the engine into tdc. I was hoping you would be willing to give me some guidance on it as well as how much of the front of the engine i need to dismantle to get the gear off the pump. Thanks!

Look directly in front of the pump.. (radiator side) there “should be” a separate plate that can be removed to access the gear side of the inj. pump..
If there’s not a cover plate, the whole timing cover would have to be removed..
It’s not out of the question..
That’s how we have to do the New Holland inj pumps..

Hello! Thanks for the reply. There is this oil inlet plate that I can remove to expose the nut on the pump. Just not sure if that is enough room to get the gear off

U don’t take the gear OUT..
As a safety precaution, degrease the face of the gear and run a magic marker to the other gear or somewhere YOU KNOW how the gear goes incase it falls out of place..
Other manufacturers put NUMBERS on the gears
U SPLIT THE 33 with the 3 on the other gear..and that’s about it..
Pay attention to the mounting ear on the pump.. it should have a timing line on it to match up with some others..

Hello @thepumpguysc .
Here is where I am at. I have assumed the timing marks are on the pump side which I can’t see yet and not on the nut side where the access is very limited. The shaft looks keyed so I decided to try and push the pump out. My local mahindra dealer service guy said I should just be able to tap it out. Not so.
I made this device to really put some pressure on it but it doesn’t budge. It is a lighter weight device so I can only crank so much before the bolt strips out. Do I just need to beef up my plan or am I missing something?

It’s very possible that the shaft IS NOT KEYED..
Whatcha gotta do it find TDC and lock the pump drive shaft..
U see that 10mm headed screw with the washer under it.??
Once u find TDC, loosen the 10mm screw and remove the washer..
tie the washer to the pump and tighten the screw against the drive shaft..so it won’t turn.
They sell VE pump removal tools online..

U have to make certain you’re on #1 TDC compression stroke.. BECAUSE.. the pump WILL come back with the drive shaft locked, timed to #1 cylinder..
Did u see the post that said the TDC hole is by the starter.??

Would that be this one I have circled? The original post of this thread said the tdc hole was behind the starter but I have yet to find it. Can you explain what you mean by tie the washer to the pump? Basically so it doesn’t get lost?
I included shots of the shaft as well. Thanks for your help in this.

Saw your second post just now. I will keep searching for the tdc hole

So…I found out I had to pull the starter to expose the tdc pin hole, which I did. I positioned the engine into tdc and pinned it. I removed the “U” washer from the 10mm bolt and tightened it down to lock the shift of the pump (I am assuming). But it still will not move beyond what it has been.

Have you popped off the gear on the front of the pump/engine.??

I have not. I can’t get to it from the front through that smaller hole that gets me access to the nut on the shaft of the pump. I have a few pictures of that in a previous post
