Heywood.... Buying on price is false and I am paying for even factoring it in with Mahindra.
I will take a slam at them. I just found out this morning that our tractor is down again. My other half didn't tell me due to her knowing I would go ballistic. It is down with the same problem that we asked the dealer with the $2k bill to find and fix last time(a month or so ago). She called the three closest dealers and the earliest we could get it even looked at was next week. It went to our shop so we can fix it internally. This won't be in a warranty even though we have "warranty" on the tractor because Mahindra won't cover a **** thing. I have also found out the resell on the tractor sucks. It is 1/2 of a deere that is the same age. I feel so bad for convincing my other half that we should buy Mahindra over the new holland or deere last year.
Some people may say I am just being loud and vocal, but I haven't even started screaming about this thing yet. There are too many dealers on this board that defend these tractors and other dealers that more people should stand up and say something.
I've said this before and will say it again, all manufactures have some problems with some of their tractors. If you wanted to you could go and look at the Kubota, New Holland, and probably even John Deere forums and find people that are so unhappy with their machine and or dealer that they would never have anything to do with that brand again. Face it, this stuff happens, yes it sucks when it happens to you, but it still happens to
ALL of the makes and brands.
It also sounds like either your local dealers are all very busy or they all suck.
Would you have been better off if you had bought another brand? Sounds to me like you would still be waiting to get whatever brand you had bought fixed, or were the three closest dealers all Mahindra dealers?
As far as the John Deere selling for twice what the Mahindra is selling for, well if they are apples to apples comparison, I sure hope that it would be in that neighborhood. When I bought my Mahindra 7520, it was 64% the cost a John Deere of the same size, and I never even priced out all the options for it that the Mahindra came std with at that time. I have no doubt that the John Deere would have been very close to double the price of the Mahindra with an exact item for item comparison. Is the John Deere better, maybe, I personally doubt it though. But then I just play with mine on the ranch and am not making a living with it, have had no problems that I couldn't fix myself.
I have to say that it sounds like you will never be happy with Mahindra, sorry to see that, but again this stuff happens, maybe bite the bullet and trade that machine in on that Deere that you wish you had.
