Mahindra MPOW85
Tractor has 81 hours on it, I've had it for 7 months. It starts out real slow in any gear. It has been like this from the start. Dealer said there was a pinched fuel line, supposedly fixed that..did not improve performance. Many other problems, won't go into them here. Any solutions?

Kubota M? Kidding... Mostly.

The dealer should put it on a dyno and get some objective numbers.

Make sure it is hitting on all cyls. The way I do it is to just touch the exhaust at each cyl. close to the head. They all should be HOT and about the same.

sounds like a fuel delivery problem, have you changed the fuel filter?

Sounds like it needs to go to the dealer. 7 months and 81 hours, there should be no questions asked on any and all problems it has.

Can be any number of things. Fuel delivery, loss of compression, anything. Best thing to do is get a hold of your dealer and go from there. "No power" is not something that can (usually) be diagnosed without someone looking at it.

Sounds like it's in limp mode. Has the dealer check to see if any codes are recorded?

Tractor has been at the dealer numerous times. I had it put on Dyno at local JD dealer(twice). PTO hp is 61-64. When I have complained to Mahindra Customer Service and to dealer about the hp, the Customer service said that advertised HP is Motor HP, Not PTO horsepower.
If i am pushing snow and the rpm's are at 1000 it will not speed up when you give it throttle, it will just back off instead. Must have it over 1000-1200 rpms to have any power at all to push snow. Temperature outside is at 30-40 degrees when using it. it is not a fuel issue.
The dealer did a complete oil and fuel change at 50 hours, and it has not improved the power at all.

The brochure says 70 PTO HP, so it ought to be at 70, not 61-64. Something may be going on there. I do not have a torque or HP curve on this engine, but 1000-1200 rpm is basically idle speed and I would not expect much HP at such a low rpm. I think you need to run the rpm up a little.

My tractor wouldn't pull the hat off your head at 1,000 RPM.

I do think a lot of the Tier IV tractors are a little less snappy at low rpm. I suppose because you can't just pour the fuel to them and roll coal, so the computer doles out the fuel sparingly.

1,000-1200 RPM is wayyyyyy to low to push anything. Your engine is basically idling. Not much power there. You should be over 1,500 to push snow, probably closer to 1,800-2,000. Raise up your rpms. Your PTO power is a little low from advertised. Some tractors hydrolics don't even work unless rpms are over 1,500.

Yup, at 1000 rpm under load you are lugging the engine. Not good. Bring the rpms up when it's under load.

Yeah just a tad lol

Most RPM dials I have seen have a mark for ' PTO RPM ', which is the motor RPM for a PTO speed of say 540. They may also have a mark that says ' PTO RATED ', which is the engine RPM that the PTO HP is rated. And maybe ' ENGINE RATED ', which means the engine RPM that they rated the motor HP.. Max RPM, Max PTO, etc can be seen on some, too.... Never seen them all at the same RPM on a dial...... Most that I can remember the PTO rated is at least a couple hundred RPM's above the 540 mark...

perfectly normal for an idling tractor, which is what yours is doing. Wind it up !
