Mahindra: Nothing but problems

Kiwi, We have had similar issues, though mine have happened with less than 50 hours and don't include the gear issue as I have a hydro, but I had a suction tube leak which puts a bunch of air in the fluid, making it less dense, compressible, thus delivering less power.

Good news!
I received a call from teh dealer last night that the tractor would be back today. I am excited to try it and see if there are any operational differences with the leaks fixed. There would have to be noticable improvement from getting more fuel and not pumping air through the hydraulic system.

Thanks to everyone for the input and support: Mark at Old Dominion Tractor and Dave at Dave's tractor have been exceptional and gernerous with their support and time. Please support them if you get the chance and they will treat you right.

Encouraging to hear

I've long held the view Dave is one of the good'uns in the tractor world up there who cares about people. It shines through like a beacon of hope in what can be very murky conditions at times. Nice to see others are helping you also.

Dave is also very successful and it just proves that treating people right is how relationships are made.

Alright, enough of that, my hat is getting tight. :)

Sorry for the delay, I became a proud father over Mother's day weekend, what an experience. The Mahindra didn't get much attention with all the excitement, but I did get to test it out a little. Everything felt good, very good. For the first time, I actually got the loader Float to work! Wow! That could have made plowing snow a little less painful for he bucket and driveway... Back dragging actually comes out nice! The Hydro range selector has 4 definitive notches with no ambiguity and the power delivered by the hydrostatic pump that is not sucking air or leaking combined with the proper amount of fuel make a monumental difference in performance. If you had told me before that I was only operating at 30% before the warranty repairs, I would have never believed you, but that's what my seat of the pant's meter says was gained. No more stalling out in hi range going up grade, a lot smoother operation with less pump whine.

So far there are no discernible leaks. There was a little oil on a frame bolt, but it was motor oil, probably a little residual on the inner frame from the complimentary oil and filter change. Since they told me about it, I wasn't at all concerned and know the difference between a real leak and a little that got away. The hydrostatic filter was also changed and I was thankful not to get it back from the shop only to spend time working on it.

I have gotten some assurance from Mahindra on the repairs that makes me feel comfortable putting the machine through the paces. The dealer did good work on cleaning up the loader hose routing and distribution by adding some elbows and cleaning up the configuration. They did a good job keeping me in the loop that last week of repairs and delivered the tractor the day they said, delivering it at 7pm through some of the worst rush hour traffic in the DC area, which is the worst in the nation.

There is no question this is a beast of a tractor and no other 40hp tractor out there really compares to the overall industrial construction. I think Mahindra will iron out their production parts if they haven't already and I know they will fix any existing conditon. If your tractor has a hydro leak, fuel line leak, or both, you will be impressed with the increased HP of having enough fuel to deliver full power.

Just want to say thank you again to my new friends here on the forum, in Texas, the regional rep, and dealer for seeing this through.
