Mahindra Now 4th Largest Tractor Seller in USA

Not really.

The brand is big but the amount of machines owned by TBN'ers is still low. Perhaps bumped up into other brands for now. I never quite got the disconnect between owning operating and buying priceing. If you are buying then you need to know what it will do before you price it. Unless of course you are HORRIBLY COLOR BLIND /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Then abliity matters less than status /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I dont know, maybe wait a week or two till Mahindra outsells JD /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree with Bob I'd like to see the figures. Mark from CCI has claimed that Kubota is #1 in the CUT category and Mahindra wasn't even mentioned in the top ones. I don't know if that story is 100% factual or not but I would think there should be some fact checking somewhere.

I know the sales figures are wrong. The dealer I am with sells over 1500 tractors a year.

With so many dealers jumping onto this bandwagon I'm not sure how anyone is going to seriously up their %. Not Deere, Kubota, or Mahindra. Everyone with any $ is selling tractors now. Where is the ceiling on the amount of units sold? How many more people are going to be needing tractors in this category?

I guess the thing that troubles me the most is that people are happy that Mahindra is moving up as a top company in the US. 1000's of jobs are leaving here for foreign countries. And it's not just Mahindra. Deere was celebrating that they were now opening a new combine factory in Brazil at the same time they are laying off workers in the US. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Up until now they've boasted how the combines and bigger tractors were all US made. Not anymore. I really wonder at what price all these cheaper products, Deere included, are going to cost us in the long run. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Who is going to be left that can afford to buy anything?

I'd like to see Mahindra moved into the "other major manufacturers" section.

I don't know about a seperate "owning/operating" section. We don't seem to be a very talkative lot, compared to other brands.

I'm not sure what I'd ever post in such a forum. "Got the tractor out this morning. Snowblowed the drive. Then put it away. Probably have to do the same thing tomorrow. I'll let you know." /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

In answering Muhammad's question, obviously I think the Mahindra forum should be at least in the "Other Major Manufacturer" section of this site. No matter what the true rankings really really really are, I think everyone would agree that it is true, Mahindra is a "Major Manufacturer".

Oh, you are a funny one this morning. I just bought new paint for my Cub. Now I just need some down time to tear it all apart and paint it up.

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif YES, if not, at the very least, it should be moved up to "Other Major Manufacturers /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

P.S. Maybe Kioti was promoted (split into buying/ pricing & owning /operating) a little early??????

Kioti has around 11,000 posts and Mahindra has 3700. Powertrac and Yanmar have even more posts. I would still like to see a legitimate source that says Mahindra is #4 in US sales.

Sorry to say , the old days are gone, its sad, if I could have them back I'd do it in a second. I'd buy "Made in U.S." if I could find it. The only label thats common today is "ASSEMBLED IN U.S." Does any body know what percentage of a John Deere compact tractor is actually made in U.S., the engine?
the tires? the battery ? , Today, the U.S. tractor is more like the United Nations, no matter what brand you look at!

Ron
P.S. Yanmar - do they make John Deeere compacts
