Mahindra Pickup Update

and that is exactly why you won't see me buying a Mahindra tractor anytime soon. much less one of their trucks. totally pathetic if you ask me. wonder if this might have any effect on people who are thinking about buying a Mahindra tractor and seeing this nonsense noing on? it'd be enough to turn me away that's for sure.

Epic fail indeed.

now that the US launch has truly failed...they should try to launch in Canada:thumbsup: we're MORE diesel friendly and LESS lawsuit happy:laughing::D

so this is how i see it going down

1) gov't mediation resolves the issue and vehicles are released under GV
2) Mahindra buys out GV and releases vehicles
3) Gov't decides that GV has the (exclusive) right to market mahindra trucks in the US in which case if mahindra ever wants to release the truck in the US they will have to go through GV. (or see 2)

I can also see Mahindra being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Essentially forced to release trucks with GV. but they will do a great job of killing the truck shortly after lauch. "ongoing and continuing supply issues" or some such. GV has to close up shop due to lack of sales.

Mahindra then waits some short period of time (like 5 years) rolls out a hybrid/EV version of the truck and re-releases them for like 2015 without GV. Bout the time the EV thing takes off after a soild 3 years of previous EV sales by tesla, toyota, GM etc

Not suprised to see this. At least we are better off not haveing them here to start with than not being able to get parts or service later on.

Is this really going to happen? I can not think of anything, even the Yugo, that you can not get parts for. It may not have been a hit but they would have sold to a limited market just like everything else. With the internet things have changed. Thanks Al Gore!

It all comes down to our stupid government regulations. They would rather keep a vehicle that can get 45 mpg off the road because it does not meet some crazy spec and instead we are now left with trucks that get 20 mpg in the same class. If there is no competition there will be very little moving forward.
