I've owned more than twelve cars/trucks in my lifetime and a number of smaller pieces of equipment lawn tractors , lawn mowers, string trimmers etc. not that common but anytime I had a seal failure during the warranty period it was fixed for free. Nissan replaced rear axle seal on the truck at about 90k miles.
Any equipment expected to be in an off road environment extensively will not have external seals covered under warranty past their bumper to bumper. A warranty covers DEFECTS in MATERIAL or WORKMANSHIP. Any part of a tractor, backhoe, bulldozer etc etc that is exposed to the elements of their working environment will not be covered after the all aggregate warranty is up. A car or truck seal is not normally exposed to tall grass, twine, submerged in mud and gravel etc, and if the dealer found evidence of damage from foreign debris on you truck axle seal the mfg would deny the warranty(although the dealer may cover it themselves). Power Train Warranties cover Internal parts bathed in oil that are protected from outside impact, debris, and the elements.
