Mahindra Tractors Quality and Reliability?

Reliability, my brother bought a 6520 W/FEL 2 years ago. In the first week or so one of the minor electrical relays or guages went out, the dealer brought another, replaced it and zero issues since then. The Mahindra is used on a fair sized farm, just under a hundred acres, cutting hay, baling hay, feeding 25-30 cows and a few horses. The FEL gets used all the time. He sold his good IH 806 after using the 6520. He has been exposed to JD and some others, his take is the Mahindra will do any thing similar HP green ones will. I have 160 acres, I had an AC 185, with lots of problems and eventually sold it, to the dealer who was familiar with it.
I bought a new Mahindra 5525. But first I researched all major and minor brands. I made a JD dealer get his pencil out, it went from around 15-16 K to 20K to quick to count. It was a new 55 HP JD, made in China, I think, It was going run 23 or 25K with a FEL. I went to look at NH, 55 HP, made in Italy, even the dealer told me he had issues and it was priced more like a green one. I checked in to Kioti and several lessers, all were quite a bit more expensive. I gave about 15.8K for the 5525 W/FEL. I saved around 9 to 10K, by buying the exact tractor I wanted. Think about this, with the money saved over green or blue, I could purchase a smaller Mahindra W/FEL to use around the yard and garden.

Resale, I'm already 10K ahead of the others. I think that money saved upfront is much more valuable than what you'll get 5, 10 or 20 years from now. Just so you know, I would not trade my 5525 straight across for a green one made in China or a blue one made in Italy. I am very happy with it.

My Mahindra compares very well with the like sized other color tractors. the JD 990 was so light weight that it would slide on the fairly level gravel parking lot when coming to a stop at a low speed; the bucket was narrower, lifted less, and did not have shuttle. Despite all it didn't have that my 4110 came standard with it was higher priced by about $2500.

My final three were Mahindra, Kubota, and NH. The Mahindra clearly won the battle of the comparisons.

My little 4110 amazes people when they see it in action. I pointed out a TC40 in action to my brother-in-law, who has owned about every major brand of tractor there is, and told him that tractor was supposed to be in the same class as mine. He shook his head and said the TC40 wasn't near the tractor my 4110 is.

I've said it before and i'll say it again:

I would put any Mahindra tractor up against any other brand of tractor in the same "category", or "class". I am that confident in them. I have seen what they can and can't do. They are very tough and reliable pieces of equipment. I wish to God every day that I wouldn't have sold my 1997 Mahindra 485 DI. It was a brute!
