Maine Is Getting Slammed With Snow Today.!!

Is 9:30 pm here in East Texas and 73 degrees. I thought global warming was the reason I have to mow the grass for the second time this year on Monday?

A little over 12 inches here in Belmont.. Going out this morning with the loader to clear a path out,, Power flickered about 8 times but never went out,,

We ended up with around 9"... another 2" or so came during the evening, of course, AFTER I had been out with the blower....

Right now it's back below freezing; might try to clean up a bit more.

Yeah, it's pretty, but really getting to be a pain! Hope this is the last of it!

My sympthy goes out to all you guys up there. Just when I was feeling bad because it was too wet to till garden second time, and too cool to go golfing this afternoon. Guess things can be worse than sitting here enjoying a cool Bud while reading your posts.
Just curious how many of you had your blowers off, put away getting ready for Spring? Hopefully this is the last of it for you.

Well, I was right. It's a freakin' Mud Fest.!!:confused2:

I have not taken my blower off and I used it...at times. Threw more gravel today than I have in a lifetime.!! Not pretty.:confused2:

I think it was the biggest snow storm of the year. Wet, heavy, ground not frozen, mud, water, and worst of all.....Gravel Snowbanks.!!:confused2:

We had 12" by midday in Lincolnville, and I was out there blowing once I got the generator running, since we also lost power. The snow had bent a large white birch down onto the driveway, but I was able to shake the snow off of it until it stood up again.

We never got rain today, which is why we got so much snow -- my parents, 20 minutes away in Union, only received 5" of snow, but it was mixed with drizzle. My PTO snowblower had no trouble today; the snow was heavy -- good snowball and snowman material -- but not wet. The ground, however, is not frozen anymore, so I ended up doing some unintended "leveling" with the snowblower. The power company restored our power after only 4 hours down, despite apparently widespread outages.

We lost power here in Solon for about 21 hours.

I really didn't want to touch this stuff with my tractor but, I had about a foot of really dense snow. I would rather skim my gravel than to let that much moisture flood the driveway.

Wish I didn't lose my camera earlier this winter.

I feel for you guys! But this winter weather is why the summer greens almost hurt the eyes they're so bright, and the autumn forest is beyond compare. World famous and rightfully so. And lest we forget the sugar maple. Yummy!!!

I would ALMOST trade you our 99degree/99%humidity summers for your winters. Heck, at least yours is pretty.

We got 4" here in south central Pennsylvania. I was very surprised when I got up at 0630 and let the dog out.
My step-daughter lives in southern Vermont....she said their forecast is 6"-12".

We're in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, and got a slushy 1/2 inch. The forecast was 3-5 but apparently no one told the storm! From the looks of the radar, we weren't far at all from the snow/rain line.

Got about 8-9 inches here in central west NH (Sunapee region) and we WERE supposed to get 13-16 but somehow that went a little east and up to Maine. I would've been happy with more because I want one more snowmobile ride before the season ends.

Did a mod on my front end snowblower on Thursday night. Put chopped off alpine skis onto my factory flat skids just so it would've carve the driveway gravel so bad...to give it a little more clearance.... what with the drive being thawed now. Ya know, it worked better than I hoped! Spit less than a handful of gravel! Woo Hoo! :thumbsup:

I posted the mods on the skids vs wheels thread. Will post pics of the mod in the morning.

I couldn't believe how quick a lot of the snow melted away today! Strong April sun!
