I plan to paint my entire tractor including the body, chassis, front loader and backhoe this spring and as I'm slowly getting closer and closer to the project I wanted to ask you what else should I service while I'm taking parts off the tractor for the paint job.
The tractor is 25 years old and has 1300 hours on it. The tractor seems to be serviced on regular basis (oil and filter replacements) but kept outside and I'll need to replace the front grill and both fenders (they are rusty). Clutch was replaced 2 years ago. Pretty new battery. I have oil leak from the rear axle seals and I'm planning to replace the seals and bearings on both front and rear axles. I have new air filter which will be replaced. All oils and filters (engine and hydraulic) were recently replaced as well as fuel filter. Tractor runs well and has plenty of power.

What else should I be thinking about servicing / replacing?

The seat? They can get a little ratty if sitting outside. Might be a good time to upgrade to a new seat with arm rests or suspension.

Do all of the lights work? All of the plastic lenses in good shape?

Rubber boots around the loader lever, any shift levers and cables in good shape?

How are the tires? I feel that good tires make a old machine or vehicle look new.
