<font color="blue">The angle iron I thought was nice as I'd prefer to tear out some angle that tear a chunk out of a large casting.
</font>
I guess that I look at it differently. I think that I should be built in such a way, that the tractor is not capable of breaking it (the angle or the casting).

A neighbor commented "why doesn't his insurance cover this?" I couldn't answer the question - insurance never came to mind and I don't know much about it. I believe the owner financed through Kubota. Can somebody post here about what Kubota insurance covers?

If it was like car insurance they would pay if you were in an accident even if it was your fault. Our tractor is covered by homeowners insurance. The agent says it only covers damage done by fire or theft or something like that.

Any update?

But Dick, do you remember why they dropped that line? It was far too costly to produce and sell. The L4850 went for over $30,000. A compact back in 1992 that cost that much was stepping into the industrial prices. While the old L4850 I use is a great, well built tractor, I still prefer hoping on my L3830 over it for almsot everything.

At first thought one would think something broken during use, for whatever reason, would not be covered by insurance normally. If your transmission in your car fails, normal liability/fire/theft/comprehensive/collision coverage does not pay to fix it. Guess that is why that special nitch for extended car repair insurance exists...

"All pearls" [don't know if that is the spelling or not... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif] is the buzz word I remember most from the discussion of whether or not home owners' insurance would meet Kubota requirements for a financed tractor...

So the question is a good one. What DOES the Kubota insurance actually cover? At first you would not think it would apply...but...stranger things have happened I bet...

Bill:
Pearls are those shinny off white color round things that women wear when they are strung together to form a necklace. The word that you were looking for, but misplaced is "perils"....... sounds the same, but is spelled differently and the spelling changes the meaning. If you give your wife a string of pearls, she will love you. If you give your wife a string of perils, you better have good health insurance! LOL....... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

From the way my wife looks at me sometimes I wonder if she doesn't think I have given her a string of perils...that is more than 30 years long now... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

But what the heck, after all this time together she still is a pearl in my eyes... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
