I'm not into the engineering, but that much manure is a source not only of methane, but of heat. Properly handled, it could provide the energy for the operation or part of it, and a huge amount of compost.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this but I asked the same question on landfills, they produce lots of methane but just burn it off, I asked why wasn't that methane collected and used, the answer I got was it was dirty methane and the cost to clean it up would exceed the usefulness of the gas.

There are farms who trap and use the methane from their lagoons. One is Mason Dixon Farms in PA. They make enough methane to run generators that produce enough electricity to power their whole farm and sell some back to the grid.
