The railroad had a bucket like that, (low sided) that they used to replace ties with. They never got in mud with it. I have a 12" bucket on my homemade excavator for doing tile work, instead of having to use the 24" bucket, and the dirt is always sticking in it. You have to shake it out every time, no biggie because I have fast hydraulics and it dumps fast.
I would keep sides low and not make an angle to force dirt to the center then it should work in most conditions. thanks sonny580
