Received a letter last night from a new neighbor. We have an adjoining property line. I was put on notice that due to issues where they used to live, I and my livestock are not welcome on their land (liability issues). Neither I nor my livestock have been on their property. I have not met these people and now I have 0 desire to. Rumor was they moved from city to country life, it kinda shows.

Kind of reminds me a little of my current situation. We just sold our home of 16 years in June. Living in a very nice rental until we find our new home. I actually approached the guy out by the mailbox and he just walked by me and stared straight ahead. He looked scared and nervous. Husband & wife doctors, so plenty of $ there.
I think there’s a lot of subtle mental illness out there.

My guess is your new neighbor will need your help and they may come around to appreciating you more.

People don’t want to interact with anyone. They just want to contact the HOA, county or police. Why bother trying to talk to your neighbor first?

New neighbors, particularly first time country property owners seem to be overly defensive about their new property. Nothing wrong with politely asserting property rights , but delivery is everything.
I think if I had neighbors with the potential for livestock issues I would either wait for the subject to come up in civil conversation, or wait for an intrusion and make my position politely known then.
Basically sending a no trespassing letter with no current or previous issues is a real jerk move.

There are currently a few 50 acre mansion properties about a mile from my place with at least one lawyer. They have alienated about everyone in the area with their ridiculous demands. Zero social skills, and entitled attitudes.

Well, they've clearly let you know what they want. Maybe send a letter back, with your expectations, maybe describe your livestock in case they get out, so your neighbors will know who to call, and carry on.
Sometimes the neighbors can start treating a property like their own, and a bit confrontational with the newcomers when they lose access, which can be not particularly fun to deal with.

Pretty much all the neighbor conflicts in my area have been about the one farmers dogs running around the township, and the odd tree that got cut just over the property line. We and others talked to the farmer about the dogs, and nothing changed, and then the dogs started not coming home and a letter from the other neighbors lawyer solved that.

neighbors can be a pain. We have just one house close by. Previous owner like to communicate via a lawyer. They sold and new neighbor is great.

It started with a tree down on her property and I mentioned I would cut it up and push it in the woods for her. It was a small job with my tractor. There was a 350 ft fence on our shared line from the previous owner, no where else on her 15 ac. She mentioned she didn't like, I said "me neither". I offered to take it down because it was right up next to our drive. I had it down in in a few hours.

Peach season came, and turns out she loves fresh peaches. She is now invited to all our family get togethers.

Well it did say that they had a previous bad experience with a neighbor. Would the person who owned the land they bought next to you have bad mouthed you?

I would suggest not letting it bother you and see if respect towards them changes anything.

I certainly would not turn down an offer to bid (whatever their GC was looking for a bid on) since it might lead to a better relationship.

Up to you though. No need to be friends with neighbors so long as each respects the property rights of the other.

We're one of 3 new neighbors for the folks that live out behind us.

We politely introduced ourselves. Told them what our plans are for the property, etc....

I did get with them since they own the road our property butt's against. I got permission from them to clear out the scrub and level the property line in preparation for field fence to go up.

We're looking to have a few critters for meat.

They like the nice groomed look anyway, so they didn't have a problem.

When it comes time for me to put up the fence. I'll run a string line down the property line. And get with them before I sink the first post to make sure We're all in agreement.

One of the other new neighbors seems pretty cool and easy going. So there shouldn't be any problems with them either.

We're waiting to see how things go with the young couple that purchased the 4 acres across the neighbors driveway from us.

Being young, first time home buyers, never living in the country, we'll have to wait and see how they are.

We're fortunate in that we have about 7-8 neighbors and get along fairly well with all of them. One used to be trouble now and then, but the decades of alcohol and pain killers took the fight out of her, so she's pretty quiet now. Plus, her son is in and out of prison. Very quiet when he's on vacation.
