making knives from odd steel

/ making knives from odd steel #41
A couple years ago I saw an hour long show on TV about a guy that makes knives/swords. Each it's own creation. Blended his own steels, etc. I was glued to the TV. What a talent. I'm very impressed with all of you that have the patient skill involved in this process. I'll be watching this thread!!!! Thanks to all of you that have displayed your talents here.

Some people call annealing drawing. Others consider it tempering
after you've hardened the blade. The tempering process softens the
blade slightly, but makes it much tougher and less likely to shatter.

Making knives is huge fun. You learn something new every time
you go to your shop. Makes you a life-long learner.

I've heard it said that knifemaking is a disease. Once you start, there's
no cure.:D
