Making passwords visible

Does anyone know of a SAFE program one can download to a computer that makes the password you enter actually DISPLAY the characters rather than a line of asterisks?

My Android displays the actual password character for a second or two after I enter it before changing it to an asterisk, which is simply common sense. It amazes me that ALL devices don't have the same ability.

There are some programs...'Snadboy Revelation' is one...it is perfectly safe but I would set my firewall to prevent it from "phoning home" every time you use it...(you can google it)

some encryption levels may prevent it from working.,..not sure if it works on mobile devices...

another option is to type your password into 'notepad' then cut/copy and paste it into a credential form field...

Take a look at a password manager called LastPass. It will remember all your User Names and passwords and automatically fill them in for you. All you have to do is remember one master password that will log into LastPass.
