Man am I ticked OFF!!!

The young girls body that was found Tuesday, that of 5 year old Samantha Runnion who was kidnapped outside her home in Southern California absolutely infuriates me. When hearing of this I thought about how I could kill another human being. I mean it, I find taking of human life despicable, but this thing that kidnapped this young girl, I could kill. Its happened way to many times and with no real answers in sight, the agony just gets worse. The Smart girl from Utah has yet to be found, we can only guess by now what has happened to her. I have a young son, 1 year old, I cherish the dickens out of him, the thought of losing him in this way, I don't know how I would ever cope. I cannot even imagine the agony these folks are going through. I'm not very religious, but I'll pray for them.
I'm venting because I'm so incredibly frustrated and agonized by this senseless act.

Yes, we certainly don't deal with sexual predators very well. We say it would be cruel and unusual to cut their genitals off with a dull, rusty knife. I say it isn't cruel at all and if we do enough of them, it won't be unusual.

I posted the following excerpt in another forum earlier today. The Iranians know how to deal with sexual predators.

I don’t understand in the name of God how these events seem to keep reoccurring… our legal/justice system needs to be adjusted drastically to deal with these special cases… they need swifter justice… no years of legal wrangling and manipulating the system… the appeal process overhauled and when convicted… immediate death by torture out in the open for the world to see… I don’t know how else to send a message to a sick, twisted, non-deserving “it” to exist in our society … It breaks my heart to see this again and again and again… with only a helpless feeling left inside… /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Cruel and unusual punishment. What is so uncruel and usual these sickos do to thier victims ?/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif I have to disagree with your choice of punishment though, I think a dull rock should be used in place of the dull rusty knife. It is crimes like this that scream out in justification of the death penalty.

I gotta admit, this stuff is tearing me up pretty bad, too.

Every time I hear of another child disappearance, I look at my two beautiful young kids and I can't even begin to imagine the agony of those parents. I'm a peaceful and compassionate guy, but put me in a room with one of those abductors and one of us is gonna die.

I don't know if this sort of thing is on the rise or it's just getting better TV coverage these days, but I am becoming less and less inclined to let my children out of my sight. I don't consider myself to be the paranoid type, but the frequency of these events makes it pretty hard to ignore. How can I send my daughter off to Girl Scout camp and not worry myself to death?

I swore I would not be the overly-protective parent who shelters his kids from the real world so much that they never get a chance to experience the wonderful life experiences that are available out there, but when that beautiful little 5-year old girl was snatched right off the street, screaming and kicking, only to be brutalized, raped and murdered, I just want to lock my kids in a vault and dedicate my life to hunting down the human scum that is responsible for these atrocities, and bring back the practice of drawing and quartering.

This topic hurts.

The Grandkids were here today at lunch time....... I looked at them running around with the careless energy they have with no care in the world and wondered how someone could do such dreadful dead.

I worry. I worry about my adult daughters also.

Just now on the History Channel is a story about these bastards who kidnap. Lindberg is the present story.

I also feel helpless, I can protect my property but I cannot protect my mobile kids and their kids............

Death by lethal injection is way too good for this animal. The only thing that would be close to justice would be having a huge giant 4 times bigger sexually abuse this guy and then strangle him.

My wife's 20 year old sister was murdered in 1979. When she turned up missing we spent 6 months looking in the woods for her body. The bones were finally discovered by a squirrel hunter. The intense hate for the animal that did this has never subsided - it destroyed my in-law's family. This guy got 20 years, but he already had 16 years for rape of another girl and so he only got a net of 4 extra years for murdering a beautiful 20 year old girl. This was not my child, so I can only imagine how the parents of that little girl feel.

I took a gender issues course in my undergrad years, and we had a good discussion about the punishment fitting the crime. One of the most interesting was to give these guys a sex change operation...and then incarcerate them for life in a mens prison.

I've been telling people for years that we ought to go back to public hangings. I do think it would reduce crime somewhat, and besides that, we could reduce the cost of the criminal justice system by selling tickets. It's my belief that if we sold tickets and had the hangings in the Cotton Bowl on Sundays, the Dallas Cowboys couldn't draw a crowd.

And I, too, have tried to imagine the parents' agony in these cases, and worried about my own kids. Just unimaginable!

You could do a whole lot worse than sheltering your children...children need to be sheltered, they shouldn't have to worry about the real world for as long as possible imo.
