More than public hangings...we need public *torture*. Slow and painful torture for these types of animals.

There was a great show on the history channell about methods that were used a long time ago...perhaps we should bring them back and see if it helps reduce crime.

what amazes me is that most are repeat evil doers. What each of us needs to do is make sure the people who make laws respect the victum more than the crimmal. I believe PC justice led to this type of thing. Too, easy to get away with crime.

Well, I certainly have no sympathy for such creatures, but I learned a long time ago that I can fight as hard as the next guy when I have to, but don't have the stomach to hurt anything that isn't fighting back. So I'm just in favor of prompt extermination.

I want this SOB caught and put to death as much as anyone, but justice must be just that, justice and not revenge. Sorry I don't want to live in a society that throws people of cliffs, castrates them with rusty knives or sells tickets for blood sport.

They should be exacuted as quickly as possible to place them before the judgement throne of God where their fate is far worse than anything man can imagine.

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. Give them as little attention as possible - a prompt and quiet execution out of the public eye.

I have no children except my friends, family and others. In the past I used to be some where and I would have children all over me. Then all this political correctness started. I had to be very careful who or how I touched one. This became a big hassle. I have restricted my involement to only a few anymore. Now with this latest mess I will have to be so very much more careful who I inneract with. I give away almost 200 dollars worth of candy a year. I always ask the adult with the child if it is alright for the children to have it.
We have so few real parentls anymore that when I see parents who are teaching their children and respecting the rights of others, I like to compliment them on their children. Now I guess I will have to just ignore as much as I can. The sad part about all this is the fact that the parents who care will be so much more careful and the parents who have just brought children in the world but don't really want to be bothered by them will continue to do their own thing and not worry about the children.

I am looking at the current events from a different angle that most. But it affects those of us that have no children in a large way also.

Not different from me. I have a 3 year old niece, and I could really do without the thoughts that haunt me while I'm with her - always thinking about how my words/actions may be misinterpreted.

I even know a couple who are going through a rough patch in their marriage that won't go into the bathroom alone with their child - they always go in with someone. It's pretty sad.

After thiking about it I agree with you. Get them out of our presence and do away with them swiftly. It is appealing to think about nailing their genitals to a stump and leaving them with a dull knife when you see or read about these crimes...appealing to the thirst for revenge, which is a normal response to these things, but think what that would say to the children we want to protect. I might want to watch the execution of someone who murdered one of my family; I might participate. Those close to the victim might want and even need a feeling of revenge; society in general just deserves that justice be done. I wouldn't want to make a habit of watching executions, even if I was sure of the guillt of the person. These people are dangerous animals. Just put them down.

While the torture etc is obviously a way of venting for most people I think it's a mistake to think that even execution is a deterrent. Saudi arabia cuts off a hand for stealing but people still steal, Why? - people who commit crimes don't do it thinking they're going to get caught, there-fore the dterrent effect is minimal. Same thing for most crimes. Repeat offenders. We need quick executions. Don't care if it's a deterrent for OTHER people. It's 100% effective for THAT person. 0% recidivism. I don't know of any other sentence that can claim a 100 % guarantee of 0% recidivism!!!!

I agree that it should not be "public" but I think it SHOULD be "publicized". Let all the others thinking about doing the same crime know what will happen if they do it. Too many people raise kids not knowing that there are consequences for their actions. We are(have been) raising a generation of mass murderers and rapists. Children are fed a steady diet of trash from the day they are born till the time they set out on their own. Most have been able to get away with anything they wanted to while living at home and they think that they should be aloud to do anything when they hit the real world. When the real world tells them that it doesn't work that way they can't cope. Children are desensitized of "human" feelings. Compassion, love, trust and self respect has been replaced with Selfishness, lust, deciept and self hatred. You are only as good as your accomplishments and that nice man/woman/child is just weak and someone you use and throw away without batting an eye. It is a sad country we live in. Lets hope that the few that are out there raising kids right will be the ones that are raising our future leaders.
