I love black bears!

I had one knock down my 250lb tripod feeder earlier this year, rip the timer/spreader off the bottom, and knaw a hole in bottom corner of feeder. Had to replace timer/spreader and patch bottom corner of feeder and throw away the tripod poles (which were flimsy anyway).

I now have feeder hanging from locust tree limb via small chain, and hopefully out of reach this time.

I still haven't seen this bear yet, but hope too soon. I just appreciate the bear letting me visit his home/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I almost took some pictures of bares once in California, but I didn't think my wife would appreciate the view.

I have seen three moutain lions cross my property in the last month. Fortunately they are after the neighbors calves and not interested in me or the horses.

I would watch the dogs, as I've heard of the bears taking dogs when the dog was chained out... seems the bear KNOWS the dog can't run with a chain on it, and they drag it BY THE CHAIN up the the big ole claws... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif kind of like playing a FISH i guess.! then I've also heard of old ladies walking gaters down souts, thinking poochy was still there! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
