One thing dad taught me many years ago was ... don't mess with bears. They don't want to mess with you and if they do, they are bleeping hard to kill. More than one hunter has been killed by a bear after emptying their mag into them.
An old hunting budy of his told me a story.. He said.
"If you are ever walking through the forest and see a big old grizzley standing in front of you, don't worry. Just stare that old bear straight in the eye. Never break eye contact. Take a big old step right towards him. Odds are that bear will take a step towards you. Take two steps towards that bear and odds are he will take two steps towards you. Keep this up until you are face to face with that old bear, until you and him are exchanging bad breath. Then, reach behind you and grab a big hand full of crap, smash it in his face and run like heck. Don't worry about the crap... it will be there".
Anyway, bad jokes aside, wild animals are the least of my concerns. Live and let live for the most part. Lost a half dozen chickens to neighbors dogs who kill them for sport. We get stunk out several times a week from skunks that were spooked by ... you got it ... neighbors dogs. No, wild animals and I get along fine. It is the supposedly domesticated ones that I have issues with.
