Around here, you can rent a manlift (towbehind 35' unit) for ~$160/day. Pull that behind the tractor with a ball on the 3 point hitch and you don't have to disconnect it to set the outriggers.

The daily rate is the same here and I have rented one several times. My Sthil pole saw is not extendable and I find myself about 6-8 feet short of where I want to be with it. It is more about having something I can attach and use without making a 40 mile round trip to pick it up, then another one to return it. If I can find a used 275 gallon pallet tank, it looks like it would work well. I found one online for $199.00, but shipping was another $120.00.

I've heard complaints around here that they ask what and where you are using it, and won't rent it if not to be used on a paved, level surface.

Your local Craigslist probably has them for around $50 and up. Damaged tank ones are usually half that.

No such questions around here. Now, they do have a sign up saying that there is a cleaning surcharge if you bring it back dirty.

Your local Craigslist probably has them for around $50 and up. Damaged tank ones are usually half that.

One of the farmers in my area converted one into a chemical tank to feed his big agg sprayer. He hauls it up front on the forks and has a hose run back to the smaller sprayer tank. He seems to cover a lot of ground with it, I'm sure there are other uses too.

My first attempt was taking a solid pallet, putting a plywood deck on it and some short side pieces. I had it secured to the forks
This was a couple years ago. Worked fine, but a little dicey

This winter I made a convertible single or double deck man lift plat form.
Completed with slots for the forks. Again, to use it, simple secure it to the forks assembly using chain and binder, poly ropes or straps
