Can anyone tell me a source for a manual for my new (to me) YM1610? If not, is there a non grey Yanmar that is comparable for which a manual might be available?

Thanks
Gary

Gary,
There really is no comparable US model to the 1610 but you might want to get a YM186 operators manual. It is not exactly the same but it will be far better than nothing. We sell a lot of those to our customers with 1610s and they seem to think it is close enough to be of real use. They will have the same maintenance procedures, service intervals, fluid recommendations, troubleshooting, etc. The specs, pictures, and capacities will,. however, be different. You can probably get them from len or, if not, you can order them off of our website.

Operators manuals can be pretty generic. An operators manual for a Ford is going to have many of the same information inregard to maintainance intervals & procedures as for a Yanmar. The YM186 is the closest to the YM1510. The YM226 is the closest to the YM1610.

I have a 1610D and just purchased a Yanmar produced shop manual off of Ebay. The 226 is very close to the 1610. The 226 has a 3T75H engine about 200cc larger than the 3T75U of the 1610. I also bought the japanese parts manual from Hoye for the 1610D. It's in japanese but easy to figure out.

Autopartsguy, when you get a chance, take a look at your 1610D parts manual and let us know what it lists as the tractor weight. It should be the first line of data on the specifications page. My 1510 manual lists the 1510D at 610kg.

The 1610 shows to weigh 680KGs and the 1610D shows to weigh 730KGs according to our parts manual.

The manual lists the 1610 at 680kg(1496 lbs) and the 4WD 1610D at 730kg (1606 lbs). Interestingly the 4WD has an almost equal weight distribution of 49% front to 51% rear.
