When we had horses we used a Millcreek pto we found used on craigslist. Well built and reasonable price.

I've scattered the apple piles pretty good with just a rotary brush hog. Perform 2 separate tasks with the same attachment.

If you wanted a less-expensive manure spreader, find a used one at a farm auction or in the classifieds. In general they are not too cheap, though, unless they need a lot of work. For 4 horses though, I'd just scoop the manure into a wheelbarrow or loader bucket, drive to where you want to spread it, and spread it with a manure fork (a five-tined pitchfork), 4 horses don't make that much manure.

I got mine from a guy that fixed them up for people that want decorations for their 10 acres. Thing works great. Originally from the 1940‘s….. or so he said.

With a lot of people gardening the horse people sell it around here. Some free. Get mine 1-2 years piled outside free if I load or $10 if they load the trailer.

Compost the stable cleaning go thru a heat. Hotter than you can keep your hand in. Kills weed seeds, parasites and breaks down materials and frees nutrients to be better absorbed by plants.
