It has been snowing since late last night after raining most of yesterday. The storm warnings have been extended to 7pm tonight thus far. Rumor has it that the town plow got stuck and then the grader that went to rescue it. The next town over plowed my road mid morning thank you!

My Kubota has pushed snow on both properties 3 times since 6am. At this point I am running out of places to push it. (this is when I will wonder about a blower for a few weeks) I have at least one more round of plowing to do before tonight.

I was able to rescue one traveler who tried to run the road before the plow came by. I almost got sucked off the road because the snow was over my front axle.

Maybe two feet of snow since yesterday!! It is great insulation for my old house!!

Hey David,

Dang! That looks like fun. Here in Colorado we are slated to get only a few inches .. I know it's hard to hear me say it but .. I wish we had more here!

Thanks for the pics

I wish it was a month ago, not now.
we had a lot of rain friday/saturday/sunday am,
and now a lot of water is running under the snow.
makes for soft driveways, and not good for
snowmobiling!

besides, it's been a long cold winter here,
approaching 200 inches of snow, i'm ready
for it to go. spring is right around
the corner, right?

:D

30" plus inchs since Sunday . That is a jee grand Cherokee in that pic , and 2 yellow labs in the other . I keep my tractor in the basement garage and had a hard time getting out, had at least a foot on the ground before we the the 30 on top of that, made it out about 50 feet but keep digging in and getting stuck, finally was able to turn it around and put it away. I will try again after it settles a bit.

I see where you folks up north got hammered with snow!

Down here, even up on my hill, it stayed rain loger-- freezing rain.

Power went out around 2:30 AM, just got it back last night around 6PM. Tree branches had --no exaggeration-- close to 1" of ice wrapped around some, 1/2" to 3/4" on most. Trees & branches were snapping and crashing down at the rate of one every 5-10 seconds for quite a while. Too dangerous to be outside to begin removing my driveway obstructions until around 3:30 PM. Looked like a war zone.

Our dirt road was closed for quite a while; I could see large trees down & across the road from the top of my drieway in both directions.

On top of the slushy underneath, we got around 8" of snow. What a mess. Even more trees came down across my driveway after those pics were taken.

Finally got most of the driveway cleaned up by 8 PM...went through quite a few shearpins, even though I had gone through the snow as carefully as I could to remove branches. Missed quite a few! :ashamed:

Hey, Dutch-- what's that yellow thing with the windows on your JD??:laughing:

Wow, ice storms suck! I have been through 2 of them, both with several
days without power due to us living at "the end of the line". They are
very destructive, at least we can plow snow and get back to normal
in a couple hours. I remember going outside and hearing the trees come
down, very very eerie feeling.
Ice storms can take days or weeks to clean up.
Hopefully you will have everything opened up soon.

That yellow thing is my soft side cab! Sure beats taking it in the face
all the time! :D:D:D

Wow, you guys got hammered with this storm ... especially with all the rain at the beginning. We were just on the right side of the frozen precipitation/rain line, thanks to the mountains just north of our place. The other side of the mountain had 6 inches of snow while we had less than an inch.

I was scheduled to fly into Glens Falls, NY yesterday morning but the airport was shut down due to the storm. Glad we decided to go to Clarksburg, WV instead.

Clarksburg, WV, huh? I grew up near there, Buckhannon, WV. I left in 1983, still have family in the area but only make it back about once a year.

We got the rain Saturday with about 4-6" of snow in the evening and it was very windy. Had to plow out drifts on Sunday morning. What a mess, with the ground not frozen and very soggy, I sure tore up the driveway clearing the snow off. Luckily you hogged all the Snow on Monday, as we did not get even a snowflake.
