Yeah, the sun is higher in the sky, it's warmer today and promises to be warmer still this weekend. That said, it is a long way until spring up here. I have seen March be absolutely nasty. This year? Who is to say?

Don't think we can see it that way, we have been known to get some real power snow falls in march.

It was a grand day, but around here we count 100 days from Dec 1st which would put us at march 10 for the last day of winter. In any event the sun is climbing and the birds are starting to sing again.

And I think I saw my calendar say Daylight Savings Time starts in a week!

That's something I don't pay a lot of attention to, but according to my calendar, Daylight Savings Time starts the 14th of this month and Spring starts the 20th.

March 2nd in Alabama. And it's supposed to do this all day . I'm sick of this global warming. . Of course, it's supposed to be 70 here next Monday (3/8/10)

It must be spring. Sat outside with the goats for a bit in the pasture yesturday and got surrounded by lots of mosquitoes.

Interesting thing, we still have a foot of snow on the ground, but a couple of days ago it was +6C and I was sitting on the deck in the sun, and there were all kinds of flies on the side of the house - waking up.

It's close enough to Spring that I need to get started working on the yard. But this is really flat land; not well drained soil and it's saturated. We got another .72" of rain yesterday. So yesterday, I sharpened the mower blade a bit, cleaned and checked the blade brake and clutch, and plugged in the battery charger. If it doesn't rain again, I figure another 3 or 4 sunny days with temperatures in the upper 50s might dry the ground out enough to mow, dethatch, trim, etc.

George, I know spring is on the way because I also have flowers. I looked over my deck this morning and saw the first dandelion in full bloom.
