You are really pushing it mister...

Sad when innocent activity can land one in hot water and smoking dope is ignored and even encouraged...

Strange times in which we live.

You also have to remember that if Larry goes to a party with friends, at a friend's house, and someone lights up a joint, and Larry breaths it in, and the next day at work, someone accidentally drops a wrench on his head, he probably has to get drug tested even though it's not his fault. Bye bye job.... so as soon as he sees someone doing that, it's time to leave.

So, he has to make some choices.

I have never in my life read an account where second hand marijuana smoke caused a positive test reaction so this is all new to me and why I reacted to that statement. Of course I don't live in California either...
I do know the thousands of times over my life I have walked out of a restaurant or building and simply gagged on the cigarette smoke outside the door. I've always wanted to avoid that, the second hand smoke issue. Can fully understand how sitting in the Cheech and Chong car could create a problem for non users, but not in the normal "party" situation where you have a room, or a back deck where people are smoking.
I don't go there because I don't like the smell, but I understand now how Larry can't go there for his job.

so yes Larry, can understand now you want "out" of that airborne risk. My apologies for misreading what you wrote.

Yes, your all understanding what I meant to imply and say.

I drug test randomly, could be 2 days in a row.... Might not be but 6 times in a year. You don't know.

If you make a mistake that puts you into "for cause" you get tested immediately and if your kept employed, you are moved into a new population that gets you pulled much more often. I actually was in this population not long ago when I carried an old range bag in to work that was emptied and converted to a camera bag. I was going to to carry in my video camera kit that is in that bag, shoot video to use to train contractors who are coming in for outages, and save them a great deal of money.

While going through typical explosives detector, Eddy current metal detectors and X Ray machine guess what was found....?
1 of your standard 22L rifle rounds was in the foam surround of the range/camera bag. The inner liner had a small hole and a single bullet had found it's way in and wedged itself into the padding.

I was off work over a month, I had to meet the VP, Director, fleet HR, fleet security, my manager and my supervisors 3 different times over those weeks off, I essentially had to convince them that I learned big lessons, loved them, the public and my job, and at some point broke down in tears explaining that it would ruin my family's comfortable lifestyle and take away from me the only thing I am trained to do.... And totally beg to be allowed another chance after my huge screw up.

I saved my job. It's a one time thing. There will never be meetings and a chance to beg again for me.

If you light up a weed smoke near me, I'll be gone like Speed Racer.
Poopy seed? Not a chance in this God's green earth.
Take a prescribed pill from my wife, buddy, parent or anyone? Better chance of seeing Jesus on a Harley.

Drink beer? Yep. Had 4 Corona Premium (90 calories and 2.8G if carbs) just last night as my wife and I watched 2 episodes of TWD.... That sucks since Rick Grimes left the show.

Beer is my vice. I drink a case a week typically. But not before or at work. I'm always first on the engineering floor, I get there around 5:30 am and make coffee for the supervisors who arrive shortly after me. I'm also the guy that will stay at work for 30 or 40 hours straight if it's needed. I do appreciate my job and the lifestyle that it affords us.

I'm afraid to lose my job. In Beaver County, I have of the coveted top paying employers. Heck, in the country even I don't think making a buck and half a year for day shift only and 40 hr weeks with 35 days of vacation is to shabby? I'm pretty scared/serious about keeping the job until September 2021 when they shutter it due to the current financial state of affairs.

It just shows how costly an innocent mistake unknowingly made can be... talk about power...

A judge can put you in jail but an employer can end your livelihood… at least in jail they feed, cloth and provide healthcare...

I posted before about a young well liked front desk Hospital Receptionist all of 22...

Zero problems in her file... was a delight to all but she no longer works for us.

Her crime...

She was on her break but at her desk and took a selfie posting it on her private Facebook page... the caption "Loving My Job"

What got her fired was her monitor was also in the picture and if you enlarged the image you could read a patient name...

Somehow this made it to Admin who said their hands were tied... zero tolerance for HIPAA violation... she was gone 3 weeks after it happened... the day it came to Admin.

Just shows how easy it can be to lose it all...

She now works for one of our Doctors in his private practice... he has nothing but good things to say about her and he knew about her situation saying she will never make that mistake again.

I'm glad my name wasn't on her monitor getting posted on FB, but seems like it could have been a learning/teaching moment for her, instead of a firing offense.

I neglected to finish my sentence. I seem to be getting worse at that.

You really had to look after enlarging but it was readable... no address or social... but still it was there for any of her friends to see...

My employer has a zero tolerance policy regarding drugs/alcohol that when I am at work (I only work in the summertime) I stick to it like glue. What I do when I am laid off is not their concern.

I know a long distance trucker, as such he gets a medical every 6 (perhaps even 3) months.
If he has been in the same room as a smoker it remains in his system and he fails the test and loses his job!
O tolerance! is O !.

My experience with the weed,
Was once at a party where a lot was being used and so I decided to give it a try.
LOL, I took one or two puffs and promptly relaxed to the point that I keeled over and came to a rest in the fireplace.

Never touched it again.
(Stick to my 'toddy. of scotch!)

O tolerance! is 0 !.

I am 72 and have been getting yearly medicals for the MTO since I turned 65. I gotta do it IF I want to keep my Class 'A' license.
