Joe, I built the one you see on the IH3444 almost for free with scrap 4140, and 4340 1/2" plate, machined out the teeth, and only had to buy the hardfaceing rod. I welded it up in my uncle's shop with 7018 rod, and rosebud preheating. Took me 3 days to rebuild that bucket's front edge. I decided to put a spade nose onto it. That was almost 20 years ago. The NH TC48DA TB has a 3/4" x 4" bar, and after pricing the steel, teeth, and teeth holders, calculated in my time, which is more valuble now. It was cost effective to just buy it with the tractor. I make a much better salary now than I did 20 years ago. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif It does weight quite a bit, and I was surprised when I removed it for the first time.
