Sorry about not getting back. Between work and helping my dad its been busy. Well its a UK Massey as per the partsman (actually a lady). I have got the seal in and just have to replace it. No time account my dads International 656 blew a seal so the little Massey was put in to draw the hay. I got a shop manual, it is a I&T manual. How reliable are the specs in these books? Also it state to use Type A auto transmission fluid for the power steering and the partsman says they use hyradralic/transmission oil (hy-trans). any comments would help

I&T manuals are known for errors and omissions, especially so with the MF manuals. They're decent quick reference, but I'd MUCH rather trust an OEM manual from Massey Ferguson/AGCO. I prefer the automotive tranny fluid in the power steering. Seals seem to hold up better from my experience.

I've got a MF 135 Diesel that needs some new brakes. I've got all the parts for the tractor, just need some help fixing them. One mechanic came over and had to leave for emergency and left the parts in my garage so now the tractor has no brakes. Any suggestions on honest mechanics that live in the branson area? If this isn't the right thread, sorry about that. Thanks for any help.

Hi guys, back in the game. I replaced the seal which does not look as durable as the original steel cladded one but it seems to work. I replaced the hydralic fluid now when I lift the 3point hitch it goes up and down well but the last few inches it shudders into position. And Ianham5 I just up dated my info and I'm sort up in The Great White North eh! But I'm going to have to do my brakes to since one doesn't work and the other locks the wheel. Like to know any issues you have Thanks.

HI Brakeman; Im new to the forum and noticed your entries. Im in Peterbrough Ontario and have a 135. Presently I have a recent problem with slow hydraulics. A local mechanic suggests a clogged filter but without a view of it and where it is I cant imagine how my hand will pull it out of the tranny. Any ideas or maybe a picture? Im working on getting manuals .

Thanks

Keith

Filter should be on the right side of the tractor behind the dipstick plate??

Could be a clogged filter, contaminated fluid (shift lever boots split and are allowing water into case) or seals on the standpipe. Pics are of my MF 135, hope they help.

Hey keithh255 good to hear from another local, I live just outside of Peter Patch. I just have the IT manual so far and I was told the actual manuals are the way to go. I still have to change the hydralic filter as the fluid was really contaminated. The hydralics work well but a little jerky. The Massey is working really well now since I started to make it work for its keep. I'm still learning the little things about MFs.
