Hello all,

Looking at the above 3 tractors for up around my house for lighter duty work. This is a tough decision because I like them all.

Massey 1e.35 - Built like a tank with strong loader lift and heavy rear-end. Loader is smooth, fast and strong. The one I like is a manual shuttle shift. Downside is less ergonomic than the others.

Kubota LX2620 - I probably like this on the best as far as fit, finish and comfort. It is really nice and compact with good clearance underneath and 3 speed hydro. It has a 4 cylnder in it as well. Kind of surprised about this. It is in-direct injected instead of direct injection. Also, no emmisions. Not sure if that would be an issue or not. I am worried about the smaller rear-end and if it will be enough tractor.

John Deere 2720 - In like new condition. I can pay cash for this one. Have not been on it yet but I have been around the 2032r and they are comfortable. I am currently talking with owner and he has provided video. It is clean and sounds good (around 300 hours). Only has 2 speed hydro (is this a big deal?). I will have to update some buckets or get a SSQA adapter and not sure if tires are filled. Also worried that it wont have the clearance like the other 2. Another plus is 31HP pre-emmision.

Any thoughts on the above?

How much is the difference in price to jump to the 1M35, or 1M40, which I'm pretty sure is available in a very nice power shuttle. Also, there should be plenty of new, 1835M/1840M still on dealer lots. Of the 3, I would strongly lean Massey, but the E series, is maybe a bit basic. I will say, Massey gets you a bit more machine for the money than Kubota. Deere, I'm just not that familiar with theirs.

In a similar class machine, I did choose the Kioti CK2610, but I do often think, man, I should have scrounged another $3500, and got more power.

I already have a 2860m for the bigger jobs, so I am not looking at the 1M35 or 40. Wanted something a little bit smaller, OOS to go with the bigger tractor. The 1e. 35 has the HP with the smaller frame. Really like the shuttle shift as well. I know it is old school but I still like it.

Ah, then I would, personally, be looking at convenience and comfort first, as powe and size are already covered by the 2860M

Looks like they are pretty equivalent. You don't mention the hours on the other ones but a 2720 with 300 hours is almost new. I bought the 2320 because I mow a lot but often wish I had the 2720 for the greater hydraulic power and weight. The two speed isn't an issue for me. The ranges overlap significantly. My 2320 has over 1300 hours and the only failures have been a fan belt and batteries.

On my Kioti, I'm 90% in medium; high is gutless, useful only for travel; and low is extremely slow. If the two speed was equivalent to my low and medium, I'd be annoyed but ok; if it was equivalent to my medium and high; same deal; if it was equivalent to my Low and my High; i think I'd light the thing on fire and claim insurance....

My take which won't be helpful, but I wanted to chime in anyway....because I recently was searching for a tractor

I drive the 2620 and the pedal way to close to me. I was unable to find a 1e or 1m Massey near me, so I passed on that.

I did however drive a lx3520 and fell in love. I was determined on buying that. The stopping point was I am heavy and when I used the step it creaked. Figured I was gonna break it. I'm 6.5 375 pounds.

I had a 1025r with 2 speed hydro and ultimately just purchased a 2038r with 2 speed hydro. I have never said man, I wish I had a 3rd speed. I drive a rural king tractor at the farm sometimes. And that 3rd speed has never been used

Funny in 1025r I always used high speed to get around. On the new 2038, I am always in low. I have not even had high speed up to max speed yet.

Point of this post, try the 3520, it's a much more comfortable tractor than the 2620 ( at least for me). And the second point is 3 speeds are not that big of a deal vs 2 in my opinion. I know others will argue, and some will have valid points, but the ultimate decision is based on your use.

After pricing out several dealers, I woulda been able to get the lx3520 with loader at 30700 plus tax And ktac That was best quote, most quotes were 32500 ish, worst quote was 35900.

I still have my jd 2720 that I bought new in 2012. It has been a great tractor for me. The 2 speed transmission has never left me wishing for a third gear.
