Backhoe Massey Backhoe

Good morning all, new to site and tractors in general. I have a Massey Ferguson 1035 with front loader and want to get a backhoe attachment. Specs call for a 1017 Massey backhoe. Question is are there other backhoes that would fit or do I have to stick to the 1017. Thanks in advance....

The backhoe recommended is done so based on manufacturer specs, factory/OEM made mounting hardware and matching the weight and hydraulic capacities. It's an OEM solution.

That said, How handy are you?

If you are handy and have access to the means to do it you can mate almost anything to something else. You would have to fabricate all the brackets to properly handle the load/force of a backhoe against the tractor itself as well as coming up with a solution/plumbing for the hydraulics. You would likely also have to troubleshoot all the mechanical failures on your own or utilize specialty shops for various issues VS dealership

Thank you CGlaser....I was hoping for "plug and play" solution. I will just keep looking for the 1017 attachment, they're hard to come by....thanks again

The 1035 is a 28+ year old tractor.
You are probably on an impossible search.
There were apparently only 2160 Massey 1035 tractors built, so it is likely that very few 1017 backhoes were built for the 1035.
You might try to find a Woods BH750, or some other Woods model hoe that will fit.

Hey Fried, so you're saying that the woods backhoe would fit? That was may original question because I see that finding one would be a pretty lucky find.

If you put a 3 PT backhoe on that lightweight machine it will probably tear the frame up. Make sure you get a full subframe and if they arent available then I would look for another solution than a BH on the MF 1035.

I do not KNOW if a Woods hoe will fit.
I was just suggesting that it MIGHT fit.
