I'm not sure why anyone in their right mind would talk bad about the product they sell? Sounds like a personal problem between the dealer and Mahindra. I'd search for another dealer, with an attitude like that you won't stay in business very long.
If I read Bob's initial post correctly, the old gent at the dealership was not complaining about the product but about his frustration in dealing with the folks and system at MahindraUSA. I can report from my own experience that this folksy dealership small talk is not all that uncommon. I sense that in a lot of cases this is all about making some old "non-nerd" tractor folks turn high-tech (at least in their view) to order in their parts. I think this attitude is going to linger in some cases until more high-tech savy guys & gals... and far better Internet connections... appear in some of the more rural and traditional-style dealerships.

The dealers here on TBN are, by definition, high-tech and generally well-connected. It is not necessarily this way with the majority of Mahindra dealerships.

Yes, I understood what he said. I guess I meant his "products support" rather than the "product".

Unfortunately people with his attitude are going to be left behind in this day in age. I find it irresponsible for a dealer to complain to a customer about the issues (which are in reality issues with the dealer being non computer literate) between themselves and Mahindra.

Regardless of the dealers computer knowledge from the post he didn't seem like he was willing to help the customer at all.

I think you are right. I should have added that this technology gap issue is not at all unique to Mahindra. Other than for the big shiny new lime green and orange dealerships, it appears to be quite common.

Couple of days ago, I sent an email to the Mahindra dealer located in Ashland VA (north of Richmond) asking if they could contact Mahindra in Calhoun Ga to see if a QA plate for my loader could be had (I knew they had it there, by the way) and even included the KMW part #. I didn't get any response yesterday...I was in Richmond today and stopped by the Mahindra dealer (also a Massey dealer) to introduce myself and explain that I was was looking for a new dealer inasmuch as mine had retired. As I walked in they were finally printing my email off and handed it to an older gentleman. At that point, I first inquired about ording parts from Mahindra. The gentleman pretty much said he didn't like dealing with Mahindra that he could never get anything out of them. Man, I was really put off....Finally he said he would call. As I was on my way to my brother's house, I asked him to return email me with what he found...Guess what? He actually said "Do you have a phone number, I don't do email...." My # was on the email.....Not sure if this bunch is who Mahindra wants looking out for their wellbeing....I was not impressed. BobG in VA

I must say this is a little disappointing, especially when you consider a lot of the legwork was already done. All the dealer has to do is make a couple of calls and and he might make a fifty or a hundred bucks or something. Rick is also correct in that it should be able to be shipped UPS. It's up there at the upped weight limit, but UPS should take it. I am still not sure where the logic is in blaming Mahindra for being difficult to deal with when the dealer is not interested in using the safest and probably most efficient method of communicating with Mahindra. I agree it is not the ONLY way to do business, but to say that you "don't do email"... well in my opinion they need to hang the For Sale sign on the door.

OK guys. I got a phone msg from the Ashland Mahindra/Massey dealer. I called them back. Check this, he said "your cost will be $493.75 plus shipping..." Well, I politely said " Thanks, I'll be in touch...." I pretty much think that I could buy the best steel in the world, have the best welder/fabibricator in the world build one custom for my FEL and it wouldn't cost that much....Am I missing something here, especially since its a discontinued part????BobG in VA

what's the part # you are looking?

Bob
If my memory serves me correctly you are looking for part# KMW13043086
SKC Q/Tach adapter for a ML265 loader. My book lists MSRP at $585.00 I also noticed they list a pin on Q/Tach adapter part# KMW13042049 MSRP at $555.00. I have tried to find AM setups but they are even more expensive. I don't think his price is bad at all. Good luck with it.

I'm here. I may not post a lot but I do monitor and try to respond if required. We are lucky to have so many good dealers who respond I believe it is not necessary for me to respond as well.

We are looking into the situation regarding the dealer's potential displeasure in dealing with Mahindra and will take whatever steps we can to correct the situation. We strive to deliver to our dealers exceptional satisfaction and to make doing business with us as easy as possible. To do so, we have executed a number of initiatives that require more and more use of computers and systems. As is with new systems and software, there have been a few hiccups, but these are corrected as and when they occur.

All I can say is the day we received the call from the dealer was the day we responded with the information he requested.

Sabula, please feel free to send me an email or post if there is something I can help you with.

Bob,
I am sure that seems like a lot, even for a somewhat obsolete item, but I doubt you can have one built for that and have it be to spec. Since the 1304 3086 mentioned is for the ML265 you can see the cost for a similar part for the new loader is even MORE expensive. You may indeed be getting it at a discount. I really don't think that price is out of line for the part. Sorry.....:(

MUSA.... I agree that dealer has come back with an answer and done his part. I hope his service continues to improve.
