Whew! I'm beat. I must have pulled out several dozen cars and trucks out of the ditches and snow drifts, and I must have cleaned 50 driveways and two small streets. I don't have chains and only have the R4 tires, but I don't seem to have any problem even with the two feet or more of snow. I took a few pics, but I'm too tired to post them today. I wore too many clothes just in case I got stuck, and ended up roasting in the cab of my tractor. At one point I actually turned on the A/C! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
A couple of times I went off into some ditches that were 3 or 4 feet deep but drifted over with snow to where I couldn't see them. Fortunately with the FEL, I was able to easily paddle myself out of all situations. Heck, even with me refusing money from all but the most insistant people, I made enough today to pretty well pay for my rear blade. I really did get quite a bit of enjoyment when people asked what they owed me and I said " nothing, I am happy I could help you; Merry Christmas". I actually had a couple of people cry they were so happy. Those were the ones that in general insisted that I take money or they couldn't live with themselves.
It really does feel good to help. I had one lady that had walked up about 1/2 mile of a side road and flagged me down. Her husband is a diabetic and needed to get to the hospital but no emergency crew could get to them for hours. I plowed their road and pulled their 2wd pickup all the way out to the main road. They really wanted to pay me, but I could see that they honestly couldn't afford to pay me, so I refused. Later in the day she found me cleaning someone else's driveway and she stopped me to give me a tub of soup and two loafs of pumpkin bread. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I couldn't turn her down on that. She says that I saved her husband's live. Heck, knowing that was plenty payment enough!
Overall, I have to say that I'm impressed with my R4's in the snow. I never got stuck, and it is a hard pull to plow over 2 feet of snow with the rear blade! Now I don't regret going away from the ag's at all. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
