Nice picture of the Branson setup you have. Where did you pick up the chain? I noticed I got lots more slipage from the front wheels in the deep snow.
I spent 3 hr. pushing snow and there is no way the old Ford Jublee would of moved it with the rear blade.
Hope it dosen't blow back in tonight.
Have a good one.

Jack, with the kind of snow we got...I also noticed more slipping today. Too deep to push well. I ordered the chains from the internet....I think it is called tirechains.com. I got the spring tensioners....but to do it over, I belive I would just use some of the rubber straps or bunge cords.

Attaching a picture of my old van as it looked this morning.

Whew! I'm beat. I must have pulled out several dozen cars and trucks out of the ditches and snow drifts, and I must have cleaned 50 driveways and two small streets. I don't have chains and only have the R4 tires, but I don't seem to have any problem even with the two feet or more of snow. I took a few pics, but I'm too tired to post them today. I wore too many clothes just in case I got stuck, and ended up roasting in the cab of my tractor. At one point I actually turned on the A/C! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

A couple of times I went off into some ditches that were 3 or 4 feet deep but drifted over with snow to where I couldn't see them. Fortunately with the FEL, I was able to easily paddle myself out of all situations. Heck, even with me refusing money from all but the most insistant people, I made enough today to pretty well pay for my rear blade. I really did get quite a bit of enjoyment when people asked what they owed me and I said " nothing, I am happy I could help you; Merry Christmas". I actually had a couple of people cry they were so happy. Those were the ones that in general insisted that I take money or they couldn't live with themselves.

It really does feel good to help. I had one lady that had walked up about 1/2 mile of a side road and flagged me down. Her husband is a diabetic and needed to get to the hospital but no emergency crew could get to them for hours. I plowed their road and pulled their 2wd pickup all the way out to the main road. They really wanted to pay me, but I could see that they honestly couldn't afford to pay me, so I refused. Later in the day she found me cleaning someone else's driveway and she stopped me to give me a tub of soup and two loafs of pumpkin bread. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I couldn't turn her down on that. She says that I saved her husband's live. Heck, knowing that was plenty payment enough!

Overall, I have to say that I'm impressed with my R4's in the snow. I never got stuck, and it is a hard pull to plow over 2 feet of snow with the rear blade! Now I don't regret going away from the ag's at all. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK , a follow up on the Bota rescue. I drive about a mile up to my cousins place and hook onto the bota. I moved it about 20 ft, but every time it would slide along the berm and we would have to abort. I couldn't get the tractor to come up over the berm of the road. I should have shortened up the chain and got closer to yank him up on the road. Meanwhile, this gigantic John Deer farm tractor comes along, and wouldn't you know it , the guy offers to help. Well, given that the tractor is about 3 times the size of mine...what is a fella to do? Even this guy was spinning and heading toward the ditch....but after several attempts and shortening the chain several times, he yanked the Bota out. My Branson was sad.... I was sad.....as we watched the black smoke belch out of that John Deer as it drove off into the sunset. I said, Branny....there will be another day, another time !

Good and interesting summation of the day Dargo. Sounds like you made a lot of people happy today. I don't know about you, but I am getting sleepy from being out all day. Oh, I forgot ....you got that cab thing going on. Now, I did wince when you mentioned the air conditioner thing. Of course, with all the sun, I guess you could have the greenhouse affect. Maybe I need to get my hip boots on for that one though. You represented the tractor community well today.

Well I sure wish I could make a few people happy, including myself!
All the snow up here missed us by about 50 miles /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I havent had a chance to use my replacement 4720 yet.
I have a rear blade also, but I think I'll be better off leaving
the B/H on for added weight.
As of now I got the rear blade on one of the old Fords
just to play with, when it does snow.
I also enjoy helping others out of the snow, I keep a strap
in my F350 4X4 just anit had the chance to use it either.
