Yep, it snowed most of the day, but only accumulated a little on grass, cars, and roofs; too warm to stay on the roads. However, we had to get out this evening (daughter called to say she had to take her husband to the hospital), and coming home after dark, the wet streets were starting to freeze and the bridges and overpasses were iced, so in 10 miles, we saw 3 wrecks. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well, it looks like it is about over here, as far as what is falling from the sky... Lots of ice and freezing slush on the roads still. Tomorrow morning looks like it will be a circus. That is if some people think that they must get out.

I guess we got between 3-5 inches of accumulation. Probably more fell, but the early stuff melted.

You guys a bit further north, enjoy! I know that you will.

P.S. I sure have enjoyed all the "activity" on the "Zetor, Branson, Century" board today!!! If it is a snow that makes it happen, so be it!!

You guys are killing me...here in the cold and blustery northeast it is expected to reach 60! Not one drop of that white stuff that is covering the eastern third of the states will get here.....as snow that is.

This sux!

Enjoy your white Christmas....lucky dogs /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just went out and started the tractor. Where it isn't drifted higher, we have an even 24'' of snow. With the 20 mph wind, it is at least 5 to 6 feet deep in spots! We usually get about 9" per year!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Day 2, just reporting in. The snow has stopped now, but wind is starting to pick up. The Indy stations are saying 15-20 mph, with gusts to 45mph. 5-6 foot drifts in wind prone roadways south where we live.

I took a measurment in my drive this morning...and looks like we got an additional 9 inches to the 12 we had last night...so I am guesing we got around 20 -21 inches here. That is probably a 1 day record.

I have had my morning coffee and bracing myself to got out and start plowing. Long hours of sitting in the cold while deer hunting have prepared me for working outside in this stuff....so I don't really mind it.....actually I love the change of seasons.

I have sure been enjoying my wood stove and furnace. The hickory is putting out a pretty warm fire. We are going to need it. It sounds like we may get -7 to -10 degrees below tonight. The wind is supposed to die down, and that will help. Cold weather when there is a lot of snow on the ground, actually seems warmer to me than when snowless.

I am attaching a picture taken from inside my garage....same one as yesterday morning. I had this area all clear last night and measured an additional 9 inches. I will try to get some better pictures today after I do some work. The snow is very light and powdery.

To those guys longing for snow , and snowless...well, what can I say. This is my perfect holiday scenario I think. More later.

Dargo, my wife (a 50 yr old Dave Mathews groupie), suggests you burn of few of his songs for your CD player. Not sure how good his music is to plow snow by....but it sure gets her to hoppin.

Sassafraspete, I do have a fel and it is going to get a work out today. I ran the blade yesterday but am going to have to stack it today. Your pictures are about what I"m looking at out the window. Think I will wait till noon to let it warm up a little before getting started stacking.

OK, just checking back in with an update and some pictures. Working a blade on this much snow is a tough job. I spent most of the day outside, and the wind quieted down and the sun came out, and what a beautiful day after all. I did the hill in front of my house and about a mile of county road, and also my niece's place.

What I learned today? Longer blades would be nice. With this much snow, once you make a pass, there is so much snow piled to the side , you can't ride over it.

Well, I'll post one picture....just got a telephone call for help...seems my cousin's husband got his Bota stuck on his hill....guess I'm going to have to go pull him out with the Branson. I'll post some more pictures later tonight.
