Meat hammer ?

Anyone here ever use one ?
A 93 years old friend was talking about his mother using one many years ago to make steaks much more tender, I had never even heard of a meat hammer before.

Seen them used before on real tough cuts of meat. Me, if its that tough, i aint eating it.

Wife has one in the drawer. never gets used. If it's tough, soak in incider...lol

We have a meat hammer and tenderizer. Each have their uses. Good for chicken as well, not just beef. Some times it’s just to make a cut flat and more even if you’re making something stuffed.

I use one pretty often to make chicken Kiev and chicken cordon bleu. Never used it on steaks.

Grew up with one, and still use one occasionally. Beef, pork, veal and chicken cutlets all benefit if making schnitzels or scallopini. Mine has a toothed "tenderizer" face and a flat "thinning" side.

I made one in high school shop class many, many years ago. It does help tenderize but my wife uses it more often for breaking up ice chunks.

Ha! I also made one in high school. Gave us experience on metal casting, lathe, and mill working.
Used mine on Abalone.

I use it very often, it is not only to tenderize, many recipes call for using it as it was mentioned above.
