Derek,

You're pretty happy with the performance.....? Do you find it very inconvenient to climb off and deal with getting it into position?

Also, Who installed yours....Did you have any concerns about welding onto you dipper stick?

Jim,

Did you look at www.excavatorthumbs.com? That is where I got mine and they offer one other in that size class. I have not visited that site for a long time but they had all kids of them and the pricing was good. I am going to check in on the site to see if they have any new models.

Jim as always when you modify or add something to anyones product you give them a way out. However I know that it is welded correctly. I did not weld across the dipper at all because this would surly cause the dipper to crack over time. I treated the weld just as if I was welding a frame on a car or truck. Done it many times with out any real problems.
Still have not been able to put the unit to work yet. It seems like that when it starts to dry out it rains again. I will be working a 100 ft. or so from the house planting some fairly good size trees and don't want to tear up the area. I will be going into the woods on the weekend rain or shine. Can't stand the wait much longer.
Will let you know how it goes
Gary
