Messick's interesting heads-up about certain OEM parts thru Amazon

Yessir, and not just with tractor parts. Like I posted in the comments on that video, people should do a google search for comparable pricing before ordering on amazon, sometime it's way cheaper elsewhere.

I use both. Amazon sells cheap junk, but they also sell name brand parts to. For most of my oil and hydraulic filters, Amazon has the best price for Wix, but they also have a variety of name brands to choose from. I have a list of numbers for each tractor and I will look them up on Amazon, then Ebay and then google them for anybody else that might have them including Messick's. When you add shipping, Amazon almost always wins.

For replacement parts for my New Holland Backhoe and Land Pride mowers, Messicks is the best by far.

I like Messicks but their shipping charges are a killer. They can be $10 cheaper for a 2 1/2 gallon jug of super UDT2 but when a seller somewhere else offers free shipping and Messicks shipping price brings it up past the point of others (or even local) then I pass. Occasionally they offer 10% off so I'll stock up if I need something but usually I don't know until after it's over.

That is great for YOU, but thousands of us live many miles from a "local" dealer.
Messick's is great!
+1 on this comment.I have a crappy local Kioti dealer about 20 miles from my house.I order ALL of my parts from my Kioti dealer Michigan Iron & equipment about 70 miles north of me.

The one that always gets me is the ad for a "whatsit" for only $59.99 and $15 shipping and "we will not be undersold"... Next ad down, "whatsit" for only $39.99 and free shipping...

I buy 99% from my local dealer who's prices are as good as or better than Messicks and I pay no shipping nor do I pay sales tax (ag exempt). I've dealt wit them in the past. I pay less locally. (Kubota dealer).

I, too, buy 99% of my stuff from my local dealer. I haven't bought any tractor related supplies from Amazon but I've bought a lot of other things. What I love about Amazon is shipping (most always free) vs Messicks (most always ridiculously high). I will never buy anything from Messicks again.

When ordering from Messick's, ask for USPS shipping.
Very reasonable.

Sad that we all need so much stuff and really most of the time it comes down to price. Brick and mortor companies must really grit their teeth at the on-line world. If all the brick and mortor stores disappear, life would get very difficult.

One would think that their system would select the cheapest shipping without the customer having to request it. I've got a feeling the sock-it-to-em on the shipping is just another way to increase their profits.
