I saw that recently Messicks published another R4 vs Turf comparison, this time on slush/ice conditions, and found it pretty interesting.

I have R4s on my Kioti as I had planned on using it for serious dirt work/snow plowing, and chose to try turfs on my new 1025R as I planned on using it primarily on grass. We have clay here and while I know a lot of people are fine using R4s on turf, my experience has been that the turf tires do a lot better in snow.
My driveway at the house is very narrow, and towards the end of winter I decided it was nice to have the 1025R at the house instead of just driving the Kioti from the farm. I've been VERY pleased with the power it puts to the ground pulling a box blade and pushing snow with the turf tires, I think I made the right choice.
