Metal for farm/tractor use?

Yes sir, wireless broadband and a cell phone tower (if that's possible)

Those towers are just too dang high in the air for me to want one around. Sooner or later, somebody will have to go up there to do something, and I'm too cheap to hire it done. Nope, no way I want that sort of thing around.

BUT, there's plenty of material there for those times that it comes in handy. Nothing nicer than a pile of steel just sitting there for you when the ocassion warrents it.

Put it behind the barn and forget about it until you need it.

Don, I got another one when we first saw our ranch there were several bow stands utilizing the exact same tower material as your picture, I'd forgotten because the hunters that were leasing the ranch back then removed them before we actually took possession. Or reading your bio maybe photography stands if hunting isn't one of your hobbies.

Everyone is thinking vertical. What about horizontal?
A bridge!
A giant landscape rake! (It may take more than one CUT to pull it, though.)

I have several antenna's on my garage and a 50' tower now. But if I had that one I'd probably make 4 more 50'ers for various antenna's, dipoles, longwire, delta loops, FRS and business band etc. But then I'm into other radio services. Someone mentioned for cell phone use. It could be used for as a personal cell phone antenna structure for those with no service but you'd need a super low loss cable. I installed a 50 tower with a beam for a friend at his camp so he has cell service while there. If your tower is in good shape and you don't want it, put an add in your local paper / swap sheet etc. someone will buy it.

A friend has labeled my junkpile projects as "Maximum use of available resources"

Looks like a kludge-kit to me. It ain't computer parts, but it's definitely a lot of raw material for kludges. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

If Karen won't let you put it behind your barn, let me get it and put it behind my barn. It'll feel right at home with my other junk. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Howabout mounting 1/2 on each side of the pond and stringing a cable across for some Army Ranger training/fun...

Or, with HDTV supposedly available up to 80 miles from the source, I guess a boring TV/FM antenna would be OK.
