Wow, a green meteor. Mine's bright red.

Gee, I didn't even notice the colour - being "colour perception challenged" as I am /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif - the politically correct wording for "colourblind" I am told.
I figure that the skid I try to make will likely be black and mottled based on my lack of welding skills.

Hey don't be so hard on yourself (at least before you try). Welding steel is not that difficult! Just play with a few pieces of junk metal first to get the hang of it. One of the biggest issues to newbe welders to remember: use clean metal. Don't try to weld through rust or paint. I will bet that in about 2 hours, you will have figured it out and will be more than ready to make those skids. Actually, if the pieces are already in the right shape(s), you could have them all set in 1 hour. Really!!! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Thanks for the encouragement. I am guessing welding is yet another one of those skills that looks and sounds much more complicated than it needs to be. MY buddy with the shop says he has lots of patience and lots of scrap so, hopefully in the next week or two, I'll give it a shot.

Cheers

BX 1850 with a 54" Meteor on the back. Not much snow in this picture, but the unit works well in deep snow. Skid shoes are a big help. Should get chains for the rear Kubota tires though.

I just got off my Kubota 4400 using the Meteor Blower. I keep open a road nearly a mile long to our Sugarhouse. Works just great, never have had a problem, I surely would buy another one.

I am on my second Winter of heavy snows using a 60" rear Meteor snowblower. It works very well. They tell me that these blowers are hard to come by this year. No too big of a surprise I would say. I'm sure glad to have this thing this year.

Mine has worked very well for the last 3 years. I could have paid a lot more but I don't think I'd have any better results.
