Do any BX owners know what size metric wrenches are needed to adjust the 3ph - - the turnbuckles on the chains as well as on the lift arm? I've been using a pair of slip-locks on them & it is a real pain to adjust.
I know, the real answer is to go hydraulic. Sometime later, maybe.
The other answer is to buy a complete set of metric open ended wrenches. Guess I'm trying to get by on the cheap.

Before the hydraulics, buy a set of the "turnbuckle" bars/tubes for the 2910 (think that's the model). It's about $65 and to adjust, you pull two pins. It stops the sloppy side sway in the 3Ph. Then you can throw the BX turnbuckle chains away.

Search this site--there's lots of guys that have done it. Best thing I've done to my BX--that plus Pat's system.

Best get a set of metric combination wrenches. Does'nt have to be an expensive set. In fact two sets really work well as there are times when two of the same size are required.

There is the alternative multi sized crescent wrench but in this case buy a good one or expect rounded nuts and bolt heads.

You will find more uses for them.

About 3 or 4 months ago, I was strolling through a Tru Value hardware store and saw a tool set for $99. It has 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive sockets (SAE, metric, regular depth, deep, 6-point, 12-point)ratchets, combination wrenches and some screwdrivers and allen wrenches. Fully guaranteed - break it, get a new one. Too much of a deal to not pick one up just to have handy in the pickup.

Yes, make the swap and get rid of the turnbuckles on the 3PH arms. They were a simple bolt-on for my B7500. There were a few posts about fitting them to the BX's. Not quite as simple, but the people who did the swap thought it was well worth it...................chim

Tdog,

I don't use any metric wrench to make 3 pt system adjustments. Instead, I use a large adjustable (Crescent) wrench.
